DH and I are AP holders, and have been for the past year or so. We live about 70 miles from DL, and are the people referred to on these boards as the locals that hop in for a few hours at a time. That is true, to an extent, although we do plan multi-day trips sometimes, as well.
I have been a fan of DL since I was a kid, and went often when I was younger, having been born and raised in CA. I was worried when I got the APs that DL would lose some of it's magic for me, being able to go so often. I was scared I would actually get sick of DL!
However; I've found that it's even better now. I have WAY more patience for the crowds. I understand that the family in front of me that appears to be rude and pushy, is there for what might be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, whereas I can come back the following week and ride something I might miss. I now take the parks at a slower pace, am not in a rush to get everything done and enjoy the little things more.
In September, we have a multi-day trip with the whole family, many coming from out-of-town and don't go to the parks more than once every couple of years. My BIL saw my FB post on Friday about waiting to get on SM and noted that I was going to be "tired of Disneyland" before the trip in September comes along.
"Tired of Disneyland"
That's a good one! BA HA HA HA HA HA
Are there other AP holders who eventually got sick of Disneyland? Is that even possible?
