I am planning our 3rd family trip to WDW for this August. Each year that we go I notice more and more cute family matching t--shirts. This last year were the white t-shirts with the mickey ears with different "hats" for each person.

I am sure by August some other new design will be out....

My question is .... WHERE do you buy these shirts? and I don't mean just specifically the ear shirts, just any really cute matching shirts for the family?

I have tried the disney store, but they just have basic make your owns....
Last year I paid someone from here to tie dye a mickey ear shirt (very cute but a big pain for the nice lady who was making them for me)...

What does everyone else do?

I've found quite a few sellers on Etsy that sell custom tshirts. I've seen various Mickey head shirts, Goofy as Darth Vader, Mickey as Prince Charming, etc. Since I'm not the least bit crafty, I'm just placing my orders for our August trip. I even ordered custom backpacks for my nephews.

I know some people on here buy the iron-on transfers and just print out things they find on the DISigns board.

I scour the DISigns board and buy the iron-on transfers. I think this is a really good option because then you get custom shirts both in design and each person can pick the style shirt they like best. I did sweatshirts this year but last year I got a tank-top and DM got a regular t-shirt while DS had a onesie!

I love being able to choose the style you want. I've contacted some Etsy sellers and they're willing to use different style shirts.

i didn't even think about checking etsy..... where can I find the DISign boards? is that here on the DIS?

I love the tie dye. I just purchased them for our trip this weekend. The disboard contect offered to walk me thru how to make them but i chose to spend the money and have her make them. In the past my SIL ordered custom shirts with our family name from the Disney Store. For somethign different, if you are hat people you may want to condider custom baseball hats.

I make ours; I used to hand applique, but now I have an embroidery machine so I can go to town if you don't sew, but don't want iron-ons, you can always check the auction site mentioned. Search Disney shirt, or custom, and you'll find loads of stuff. Or, you can do like I did and learn how to make them- although I warn you, it can be addictive.
