Hello, everyone!! Need your great ideas, please! Taking some of our family with us next month for a special trip. They were in a near fatal wreck last year and the ordeal is coming to an end. We have alot to celebrate!! What are things we can do to make this trip EXTRA special without costing a lot of money. They were last at Disney in 1993. Thanks!!!

We just had a special trip there too a few weeks ago.. after a major health issue..

Just being there together was wonderful..
some special things we did... Dinner at CRT during wishes... Garden Grill dinner with the characters.... the Wishes dessert party on our last night at MK.

relaxing morning at the resort pool ...

We stayed at POR riverside... but anyone can go and see Bob Jackson entertain at the lounge ...a fun night...
Honestly just having fun together was the most important thing after our family trauma..

Kim possible at Epcot was a fun also ... and there was a dance party with characters in tomorrowland at the MK also...

Have a wonderful time !!!

Thanks - great ideas. Hadn't heard of the Wishes Dessert party and will check that out. I'm buying the CD in advance and plan on having as many pics taken as possible to remember this trip by.

Anyone done the Trolley ride? Where do you get on it?

You could try ...

- If your vacation dates fall in late September, you could catch the first nights of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is a separate admission event but IMHO, not to be missed if visiting during Halloweentime. I've gone for the past 8 years.
- There are a ton of character meals to choose from. I recommend starting your vacation with a character breakfast. It sets the mood for the rest of your vacation.
- Rent a boat at Downtown Disney Marketplace.
- Visit one of the water parks, or do one of the putt-putt courses.
- I've heard of the dessert parties, but have never had the $$ to try them. I hear the MK one leaves much to be desired but the Epcot one tends to have better reviews.
- For more $$, you could take one of those new safari tours at AK. They seem unique and neat if you have the cash.

Not sure what trolley ride you're referring to, though. MK stopped their Main Street vehicles years ago.

You could have something special sent to their room - Mickey Ears and treats or something along that line. Arrange for a special photo to be taken, by hiring a professional photographer.
Our first trip, I had a basket sent to our room for my family with ears, trading pins, snacks, etc and they thought it was pretty awesome.

The horse drawn trolleys were running during MK morning extra magic hour in July. We got on it right near the flag pole just inside the park entrance for an one way ride to the Castle. :)

I was not by the front of the park when the extra magic hour ended... but i don't know that they would bring them out only for an hour... so early morning might be your best chance at riding..

It definitely must be an EMH thing, then. The only time I see the horse-drawn trolley is right before the parade with the Family of the Day. My CM best friend has confirmed that the trolleys and cars no longer run. As I've never done EMH, it's possible due to the lower attendance in the park they can use them.

I was very happy to see it and get to ride! :cheer2::cheer2:

What about asking on the Creative DISigns thread for some custom t-shirt iron ons? You can buy the paper pretty cheap, and t-shirts pretty cheap too. Just print and iron them on!

Thanks for the trolley info.....couldn't find much info on it.

Great idea on the t-shirts and photography. Already preordered our photopass CD and plan on getting all the pics I can.

Anyone done the photo sessions? How'd it go??
