I was just wondering how much everyone normally tips the various people on their vacations.

Bell Service
Mousekeeping
Magical Express
etc.

I usually tip bell $5 a bag, Mousekeeping $2 a night (per guest), and I have not taken DME yet.

I think you're being very generous with those amounts. I probably would not give any more than that. Call me a cheapskate, but I usually tip less than that per bag, as in $3 per bag. We've been tipping mousekeeping $1 per guest per night, but after your post, I'm thinking we should up our tips in that aspect.

hmm, I think it's because I feel bad that they had to do all the work. :) I'm from New York, so I'm used to walking everywhere lugging heavy things around with me. Plus I usually only have 1 bag and a backpack, so it's really $5 all together. ;)

well, I split the difference - $15 for our bags (about 8), but it only took him about 10 minutes.

For Mousekeeping, we did $5 a day.

Usually $2 to pickup and $2 to drop off the valet.

Also, I found it strange that few people tip the concierge CM's when they go out of their way to help out. Even $5 would be apprecaited (even though it is their job).

I'd love to hear what others do.

We tipped Mousekeeping $1/day per person ($5), then Bell Service $1 per bag handled ($8) upon arrival & departure, DME ($5) each way.

Always 20% for table service restaurants. :sunny:

Bellmen get $10 for 2 people's luggage. 15 if I have a bunch of groceries.

Housekeeping gets $5/day, and I do half the job for them.

Never took DME, do people tip the bus drivers???

If you do DME isn't the tip for the bell service included esp since you are propaly not there when the bags arrive? Never done it before thought I read it was included if not how do you tip if you are not there when bags arrive?
mousekeeper $1 per day/per person and bus driver $5 each way or is this included also? (my guess is no?)

I really do not tip bell service per bag, although that makes sense. We usually have 2 bags plus a cameral bag for longer than weekend stays and we always tip $10. If it's a weekend trip I skip bell service altogether and wheel just our single bag to the room.

Mouse keeping is normally $10 per day at Deluxe resorts, $5 per day at Moderates or Value. DVC resorts is a bit tricky. I make sure they get $20 on trash/towel day and a $10 or $20 when we check out depending on how many days after trash and towel day. The key thing is we generally check out of our DVC room leaving it spotless and all trash thrown out. I know they probably run the dishwasher with all the dishes again, but at least it will give the mousekeeper time to make all the fancy towel and tissue touches. ;)

I tip at the end of our stay for mousekeeping around 20 dollars :goodvibes . I tip 5 per bag

A little-known secret: If you tip Mousekeeping each night in an envelope marked: "MouseKeeping" they may leave a surprise for you.

But don't count on it. Mousekeeping has been known to leave surprised when no tip has been left. And other times, they leave nothing even when a generous tip was left. It all depends on the Mousekeeper and how much time she has.

BTW - you may not get the same Mousekeeper everyday. So, I always tip everyday. Usually it's $1-$2 per person, depending on how messy we leave the room.

I tip Mousekeeping $5-10 a day depending on how messy the room is. Now that DD is older usually $5.
Bell Service we tip $10, usually have 2 bags and stroller. But DH always helps. The first time we stayed at AKL we arrived in a limo and got NO help what so ever. DH had to take bags from car to room! I was shocked by this.
ME- arriving we tip $5 because we have a stroller and a carry on they but under the bus.
Departing we tip $10
