Hello..

I know Easter seems to be THE BUSIEST time at DW, but its the only time we are able to go being we have school age kids, unless we go in the summer time with the heat and humidty...and the way I look at it everytime is busy at DW...

We are going to be arriving on Saturday April 3, 2010 and departing on Friday April 9th, 2010...we are staying at POR and have 4 day park tickets/no hoppers...QS dinning plan, but do plan on doing T-Rex DTD and RF at AK if at all possible...and I do know that will be out of pocket...

I had thought about doing parks on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur.... depending the weather I thought about waterpark(see next paragraph)on Sun..

I was not sure if I should buy waterpark tickets because not sure what the weather will be like...I know Fl is like here in Louisiana...it could be freezing cold that whole week or blistering hot...I was holding off on that, once we get their if I see its warm enough for a water park day we will purchase ticketes...does anyone know how much waterpark tickets are if purchase once we get their...

Thur I would like to do the easiest park of all, HAHA, I know that is crazy, but I don't want to be too late returning to room being we have to depart on Friday...

Any idea what time check out is???

I am just starting this planning and I am open for any options and ideas...I know I have 5 months of planning ahead but I am driving myself crazy just looking/reading/deciding/changing my mind, etc etc...

Kids ages will be 11 & 9 both boys...
HELPPPPPP...

Thanks...

We went for Easter a few years ago and were pleasantly surprised at how UNCRAZY it was. Yes there were people but no more than other times we had been there. We did our favorite rides earliest in the day. Water parks were fine since the water is heated (regardless of outside temps, the water was warm).

I know some people have gone at Easter and have complained about the crowds but we really had NO problems. We even went to the resort Easter Egg Hunt and they had candy left over. They were well prepared.

Have a great trip!!

We went at Easter once too and it was not terribly packed. Now mind you, any weekend will be busy, but the weekdays will be slower. As for weather, by April it will be hot enough for water parks, but remember the resort has an awesome pool too, so if you wanted to save some money you could just hang around the resort for a day, maybe rent a speed boat and hit the pool :)

Don't plan on seeing it all, sit down with the family and have each person pick their 2 "must do's" for that park.
Then have them list 2 "it'd be nice" and go from there. :)
Work your way down the list... always do the Must do's first.
Those are my pieces of help...

We have been many times during Easter. You will have a wonderful time if you follow simple rules.

* Fast PASS
*ADR'S
* The parks WILL close if there is high occupancy. It happened several times last Easter.Get there early, stay on property. That way you have a better chance of beiong on the right side of the turnstyle.
* most restaurants charge more on Easter Sunday.
* AK is horrible to navigate and 20 degrees hotter than other parks..get in early and out early.
* stay away from parks with EMH's
* Fast PASS
* Don't forget to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
*Did I mention Fast Pass..Learn the ins and outs.

Have a wonderful time. We always DO !!!!

Well if I am correct I don't have to deal w/ADR's, because we are doing QS dinning...now we are going to do RFC and T-Rex, I am thinking about hitting T-Rex that Saturday we arrive, I do plan on calling ahead for reservations...and RFC we will do either at AK or on Friday on our departure home, and either one I decide, I do plan on making reservations for...

I was thinking that ALL PARKS are probably gonna be crazy on Easter Sunday, I thought about staying away from them, doing parks on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur....

On EMH's...are you saying we should not take interest in the extra majical hour...

The EASTER BUNNY, I guess is in at the resorts and all parks if we decide to do a park that day!!...

Thanks so much for your input...

What a great advice on "must do's" and "it'd be nice"...

Thanks so much..

Here is us with the MK Easter bunny (or bunnies actually) a few years ago

They were hanging out right as you walked in to the left, but knowing WDW they will probably be somewhere else now :)

We skipped MK during the day this year on Easter Sunday in favor of Epcot (which was having morning EMH). We got a head start in the park and had a good few hours of relative quiet before it got crowded. They also had Easter Egg hunts every half hour - two kinds - a simple one for younger kids and a more challenging one for the older ones. We left after lunch and went back to the resort for a swim and a sleep. I don't know if you have park hoppers - I thought you said you didn't but reading the first post again, I can't see if you made reference to your tickets. We then went to MK around 11 pm and stayed for the EMH until 3 am and it was QUIET. All rides were walk ons. Oh, and MK had morning EMH every day over the week around and after Easter, so if you don't have park hoppers you could do that. You will need a hotel break though - 8 am to 3 am is a LONG day. We lost the morning of the following day due to the long hours - only got back to the resort around 3.45 am.

The weather as beautiful. Pleasantly hot, not too humid, although for some reason the AK always feels more humid than anywhere else - must be all the vegetation.

I LOVE April as the weather is good, and with the Easter crowds there are longer hours, extra parades, fireworks every night.....! Lots more choices and therefore more ways to use your day.
