Tips for time after checkout and airline departure?

Keep in mind the RAC check in counter is only open till 1:00 p.m. It is a great service. No more having to stand in long check in lines at the airport ticket counter.

You could go over to AKL and have lunch and walk around and look at the animals.

Go to the Wilderness Lodge have lunch then walk along the paved path that goes over to the camp grounds. Check out the animals. If you don't want to walk you can rent bikes at WL and bike over. Or after lunch at the WL take a boat ride over to MK. Hop on the monorail and take for a ride to where ever you feel like going.

We usually leave our bags with the hotel, do what we are in the mood for and then circle back for a quick snack and leave. However last year we got rained on really bad so we've started to request late checkout. This upcoming trip in a couple weeks is the first time so I'll report back after how we liked doing it this way..

Things we tend to do:
- Downtown disney and usually a restaurant we couldn't find at home.
- 1 last time in some parks. Generally we had enough days and usually took a tour that needed park hopper that this is only $20 to add on one more day (2 of us). We're switching to AP this trip so it'll be a no brainier for us in the future.
- checking out some other resort(s), usually combined with a lunch. Generally the higher end ones where we can hit their shops if we haven't already.
