Tips for those ready to depart to WDW!!!!!

Why thank you LSUDis. Apparently, my local stores are out..I'll check the ones closer to work.

Hey, you're just a stone's throw away from me....matter of fact, DD20 is a student at LSU!!

Get to the character locations about 5 min before they are due to come out, I got a lot of pictures w/the character this way, I was always first in line, no wait. Each park has a time when they come out. It is on a single sheet of paper w/ other show times and parades w/ the park maps.

In MGM, if you want to see the car show, get to the fast pass for this right away!!! There are only three shows a day, there was a long long line for the people that didn't fast pass. We went right in!!!!!!!!!!!!

:teeth:

Where do you get the sheet listing character locations and show times?

Which should we get a fastpass for first? Car show, Indiana Jones or Little Mermaid (got little girls)? Not doing Rock n Roller coaster and maybe only DH will do Tower of Terror. Thanks.

Hi ! I just got back last week from WDW and w/ my family, my parents and my sister and her family. We were going for 6 days, and on the fourth day my mother had a very bloated feeling and that night started to run a fever w/ pains in her side. Anyway, long story short, she had to go to the hospital and have her appendix taken out! The doctors told her she would probably be released the following Tues, and our flight left that Sunday. My husband went to the front desk to see how much more it would cost for my parent s to stay, and they gave my parents 50% off his room to extend it the next Wed, and the families who had reserved the three rooms we were in rooms were moved back to another part of the resort. They also gave him the expiration option on his park tickets for no charge, and they called the rental car co for him to get him a car! I thought that was wonderful. I just wanted everyone to know they are still on top of things there! I have read a lot of posts in the past saying they were going downhill, and this story just proves their customer satisfaction is still a top priority!!!!

Sorry didn't mean to post that there!!!!!!!!! I meant to start a new thread!!!!!!

This is very nice to hear, thanks for sharing! May I ask...where did you stay? I've heard that some resorts are much better with customer service than others, so I'm rather curious.

The coffee in the rooms are terrible!!!!!! There were nine people in our party, and they all hated the coffee!!!! Plan on going to the Food court!!!! At least at Caribbean Beach!!!!

That's because the water is terrible (high sulphur content). If you use bottled spring water your coffee will taste much better.

I read on another tip thread that one poster scotch guarded his/her backpack to make it more water resistant.

I haven't personally tried this yet but plan to on our September trip. I'm still a little gun shy on fully relying on this and will also be doing the ziplocs as a backup.

I ordered my Baggallini for the trip and it arrived at work yesterday. It happened to be raining hard when I left work, and the bag got a little wet in my tote when running to the car. As I'm driving I looked over and what did I see? Lots of nice droplets on the outside of the bag...it appears to be somewhat waterproof already! :thumbsup2

I carry a small bag that is made out of backpack material, and I always water proof it before we leave. I use the shoe spray and do our tennies, the bag, and the camera bag. "You may get wet!" ;)

Good tips there, but I would take exception to the comment about the room coffee. To me it's always tasted just fine. And I use room tap water. But then, perhaps that's because I'm from Florida, and used to the water here.

But I have to say that I've read plenty of posts on here about Florida water tasting bad. Kinda strange when you consider how much bottled water is sold all over the country that was bottled in Florida. Sells good too. LOL

Enjoy.

Keep'em coming, we leave in October and I'm really feeling more prepared after all of the reading I've done on these boards. BTW - for the Downy stuff - do you just spray it on and the wrinkles "fall out"? I have a business trip to St. Louis next week and would love to pick some up if that's the case. Do you think it would work on a formal gown as well????

You spray it on, give the garment a good shake or a few tugs if it is on a hanger, then let it dry. The wrinkles pretty much fall out because it "relaxes" the fabric. Works great on polos, T-shirts, etc. DH and I spray our shirts the night before, but it dries pretty quick. You could probably spray your shirt before you get in the shower and it would be dry when you got out. I have never sprayed it on formal wear. :confused3 I think the best thing for formal wear is a steamer.

You can also spray it on a garment and iron over it to make the wrinkles smooth out easier, but the whole point is avoiding the iron, isn't it? ;)

At Target they keep it with the fabric softener. My Target has it on the top shelf, so you kind of have to know where to look.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach! I think that is why I was so surprised they were so good to him. It's not like we were at a deluxe resort!!!!

Thanks for sharing, that really makes me feel even better now that I know it wasn't a deluxe!

Last Aug we got our FPs at the front of LMA from a CM, so we never put our pass into any machines for the FP. We got our FP immediately for LMA once we got to the park. Not sure if this has changed thou, can anyone please confirm?
We, too, received our fastpasses from a couple of CMs standing outside of LMA last summer. It must not have been near a showtime, because it was no crowd at all. So I think you can still get another fastpass while you have a fastpass for LMA, but make sure that you get to LMA very early for the fastpass.
We never ended up using our fastpasses because we had to leave for lunch at another park, so I think we just gave ours away.

These are all such great tips! Thanks for all the help! Oh, and I saw we have some LSU fans a few pages back...so GEUAX TIGERS!! I'm in Baton Rouge, and it is always nice to see from LA DISers!

I got the spray misting fans at the Disney Store on Clearance for $3.00 so you might want to run quick to see if any are left.

You might have the battery in backwards, it is worth checking.
I had batteries in backward and my fan melted and I burnt my hand , so be careful
