Tips for Those Nervous About Reserving FP

Could you explain that one a little? I thought you had to use 3 fp in the tier parks, 1 tier 1, and the two others before you could get another tier 1.
I am going by what I've read so far, but I thought that if you are in Epcot or DHS and you choose a tier 1 and say 1 tier 2, once you use those you can try for another tier 1 since you used the one you reserved in advance. I haven't done it myself yet, but will be soon. So now I am wondering do you HAVE to use 3 fps still in order to do that. All of the changes are confusing.

Thanks, yeah I'm not sure either. It's so confusing. Haha! I need to read more about it, that could be totally right. Cool if it is!

Yesterday my window came up for 30 days. Staying at the Vistana. We will only have 2 days before BTMRR closes, so magic kingdom on a Saturday in August it is. I was shocked to discover that at 30 days I could morning times for everything, including 7DMT. I checked all the other parks for August 4 just to see. Only things gone are the parade in MK and FEA. Soarin is available early ish. So this is not what I was dreading as an offsite person.

Thanks for posting this! I've got some anxiety about this, I hate that I can't practice before my dates open. Additionally I'll be in northern Michigan with super questionable wifi that week, so felt like I already had the deck stacked against me. This thread has given me a nice sense of comfort and a boost of confidence!

This is some great info! I've still got some time before our window opens, but these are some great tips! The system is totally different since I've used it, so I was a bit nervous too!

Thank you for posting this. I was nervous about doing this since the system has changed since last year. I'm going to write out all of our park days and what we want where and then start with the hardest to get- FEA, 7D, TSMM all first. Then I'll fill in with the other stuff. We will be there 9 days, do you know if I will be able to book for all 9 or is it just 7 days at a time?

I just booked all my days today. So you can definitely do all 9 days. In fact I got an 11:05 FEA.

Are we still to plan based on the earliest FEA at 11am? Anyone seen an earlier FP yet?

1. Don't be worried if it is 7:00 AM and it says there are no tickets associated with the people in your party. Don't be worried if it is 7:05 AM and it says there are no tickets associated with the people in your party. The system did not refresh for me so I could start booking FP until around 7:07. I was freaking out for those 7 minutes....and all it wound up being was a slight delay. So, deep breaths, refresh your screen, and enjoy your coffee until the system is ready.

My FP window opens up a week from today. This is my first time using this system, and I was worried that no tickets in my party of 7 are showing linked as of yet. So, I guess that is normal and they will show up the morning of? I was preparing to call this morning and ask about it, but I guess I should be patient?

Thanks for posting this. I still have 60 days to go but already trying to go over things in my hear. My plan is to visit two parks a day and to get FP+ for the evening parks I plan to visit. Anyone use this strategy before and have success or failure with it? We plan to do rope drop and get on as much as we can with small lines and do other stuff in the mid afternoon.

I've done this both ways. This way was good for us in 2013 but FP+ was new and we had paper ones too so not sure that's a good test for it.

What I will say, is last year we did the whole use them early and try for your 4th+ from the kiosk. Well, there weren't hardly any left that we wanted. This year we are going to do a combination of smart rope drop strategy and noonish FP+ starts. Sometimes it'll be in our 1st park of the day and other times it'll be the 2nd. Then try for 4th+.
I'm doing a combination of EasyWdw plans and Touring Plans site to try and figure out my FP choices.

Yes, that is exactly what happened for me. It showed up around 7:07 AM and I was able to book our FP's after that.

You can still choose up to 3 FP's in the park you are going to on whichever day, but you can also choose 1 or 2 if you want. You used to HAVE to choose 3 before, even if you didn't want 3. Now you can choose up to 3. Our last full day, I only made 1 FP so far, because I really don't know if we want to go to MK or Epcot.. so I chose FEA for now, and I might add 1 or 2 more later.
So you think I can choose one fastpass selection for a day ( hardest to get) and move on and come back to pick other two after a number of minutes ?

Ours were this morning, it was available right at 7:00am. Had no problems getting 7DMT or Frozen Ever After, tons of available times.

My biggest tip that I realized after getting frustrated was that even when you choose to view more times, those aren't ALL the available times. I wanted an 11:00 for Tower of Terror and kept only showing 11:20, 11:45, etc. I quickly realized to hit refresh and it'll change and show times it wasn't showing. I even had luck going out (back) without selecting a time and hitting refresh and the few times showing were different than those in the all options. Using the time pull down to sort times helped sometimes too.
So my tip is if you have a specific time in mind, keep messing with it. It's there, just sometimes have to fiddle with it to get it to show up.
