Hello! It's just a few days until I take my first stab at booking FP+. We have 6 in our group and I'd love to hear any insights and/or tips you have on how to book for a larger group? Is it more challenging to get FastPasses? I'm assuming highly coveted ones like A & E or 7DMT will be hard to get? We have 3 adults and 3 kids and want to book the main, popular things most people seem to want. I'm a newbie at this, so any help is very appreciated! Thanks!

I was booking for my group of 11, for the week of October 1-11. I had no problem getting what we wanted, including A&E and 7DMT ( twice). I just followed the suggestion of going for the harder ones at the end of your trip, and working your way forward.
For example, there was no availability for 7D or A&E on the first 2 days our trip, but plenty at the end. I was also online and ready to go right at midnight on my 60 day window.

Woke up at 5am not wanting to stay up till midnight night before and I booked FP+ for 7 people starting with day of arrival at MK. 7DMT was available 8:45pm so I chose it. Went back to alter times after the 3 choices were done and ended up getting 8:05pm for 7 of us. All other attractions at all parks were available for multiple different times. It was really a great relief. We are all adults so no A&E for us. We are arriving Oct 21st. I felt stressed days before the 60 day mark not knowing how the process would function for my 1st time using the FP+ system, but it went really well and reading over the info by Mesaboy several times helped.

How many days are you staying? Is this a 30 day or 60 day window?

You might have to book each of your advanced ride reservations one at a time. When I tried to book my group of 7, I had to book each person separately. Even groups of two were difficult for the tough rides and attractions. Doing them one at a time is a pain. I found it easier to grab three fastpasses for everyone. Then go back back in one person at a time to change one ride to a new attraction.

For example, I would book Splash, Big Thunder, Space Mountain for all seven. Get the times kind of right. Picked one ride to change. Then tried to switch out one at a time. Change Space Mountain for 7dmt for person 1, then two, then three. But I couldn't get overlapping times, so I still have a mess. The parties limit my options.

As others have said, I was able to book easier for the end of my trip.

I can see how having a 10 day trip would be easier. My 3-4 day trip is much more difficult with first two days having very limited availability and the parties causing limited options at MK.

That is encouraging.

Was this at 60 days and how long is the trip?
Were you trying for 7dmt, AE, fireworks?
It was at 60 days out. I waited until the morning to make the fps. I didn't try for A&E but fireworks, the MK afternoon parade and 7DMT were all available.

I booked for a group of nine for a seven night stay. I was able to get 7DMT at the beginning and end of the trip. I didn't try for Anna and Elsa because my niece doesn't care about meeting them. I got all of the rides that I thought might be difficult. I will say I was on right at midnight.

In the fall, when I was booking for a group of 12, IT recommended that if you are ever booking for different experiences, you should first book your whole party for the hardest item OR the item the most people will be doing, and then "change experience" for the few people who want a different ride. For example, book everyone for Space Mountain at your desired time, then go back to edit the 2 people who do not want that ride and select Buzz (or whatever they want instead).

Not sure if you've read up on other FP+ threads, but in case you didn't. . . the system spits out 3 different selections based on the 3 rides you picked. They may not be quite at the time of day or in the order you want (if you care). IF you want to adjust them to specific orders/times, it is easier to pick the system-provided choice FURTHEST from your desired times and then adjust them individually to more suitable times. THe reason for this is that if the system gives you rides at, say, 11, 12 and 1:45 and you really wanted them at 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30 you cannot pick a new time that conflicts with any other existing FP+ choices. Your times that are "close but not quite right" will be blocking your ability to tweak other times. It's easier to pick a system-generated evening time and then adjust them back to your desired morning schedule. If you're not that picky in your schedule - take what the system gives you and have fun! :)

I was able to book passes for 6 people very easily for a June trip in May (so 30ish days)

Because of when tickets were purchased, I made reservations for myself and then copied them over when everyone else had their tickets linked. We weren't going for A&E, but had no issue with 7DMT. I believe the system booked us overlapping times that started within 10 minutes of each other (I started at 6, they started at 6:10). Every other pass that we wanted we had no issue booking for any time that we wanted
