Tips for making singing vacation video?

We are headed out in September for our 4th trip home. My family loves the different DW vacation videos out there on YouTube, especially the ones where there is a catchy song with it and the people in the video are "singing" it.

Does anyone have any tips on making these? I'm pretty adept on the computer with MovieMaker and iMovie. (cutting, splicing, adding music, adjusting volume on soundtracks, etc.)

I was looking for tips on the actual production at the parks and putting it together at home that might make it easier/quicker/more efficient.
