Tips for Making a 1st Time Visitors Trip Magical

My girlfriend has never been to WDW and really does not know anything about it does anyone have any tips to make her trip magicial?

How about a reservation at CRT (Cinderella's Royal Table). Hard to get, but boy does it make you feel like a princess. There is just something about dining in the castle that is very cool! Everyone just has to do it at least once, but than again maybe girls like me (loved Fairytales as kid and has great memories of World of Disney) would only like it.

I'm sure others will have great advice to give too!

Well eventhough your a Red Sox fan and Im a yankee fan I will help out a fellow Disney fan.

There are alot of things to do. i would say take one night and go to DTD and eat out there somewhere. they have clubs and even comdey clubs. Also look into going to the Hoop Dee Doo Review. it is a comedy dinner show that is really awesome.

Also look into the fantasmic dinner package at MGM. you get dinner and priority seating to Fantasmic.

Make sure you see the parades and fireworks. I didn't know what a real parade was until I went to WDW!

Fantasmic is great too!

Try to stay on site if possible too.

We brought our friends for the first time last year. This was our first trip with our kids too. Here's what made it magical for ALL of us:

We had ADR for CRT breakfast for the very first thing on the first day. So we were already all excited about going to MK, went to the castle first and were impressed with the theming. Of course, the girls loved the princesses. Then right afterwards we went to Mickey's Philharmagic which seemed to be a perfect followup. After that we went on Cinderella'a carrousel before going to all the other stuff. As much as my kids love philharmagic, I absolutely loved it, and aside from Fantasmic at MGM (another must see, and a magical thing too), it is my favourite! For us anyways, these things all combined just built on the excitement and magic for both kids and adults. Make sure you catch Spectromagic (evening parade) and Wishes (fireworks) too. Have fun!

Look into doing a Illuminations cruise. I think it would be a great way to watch the fireworks/show. I've heard some good reviews on them.

I agree spectromagic and wishes is a must! make sure to take them on the monorail when going to epcot. Make time for characters! Have dinner at ohanas! Ride POTC!

Depends on when your trip is and your price range. And I would suggest lurking on the boards and doing lots of research. The more you know about WDW the easier your trip will be.

The thing to remember is that you're not going to be able to do everything in one trip, so be sure to take the time to really enjoy what you are able to do. Look at the details, and enjoy the sights and sounds around you. It's Disney, so it'll be magical no matter what you do.

Also, I agree with the poster that said to stay on property. It makes the whole experience so much more magical, and allows you to stay immersed in Disney 24/7.

Other than that, it's all a matter of what you plan on doing. But whatever you do, it'll be great. So enjoy!

Trip is a week from this Monday and I am so siked! She has never been anywhere outside of our Local Six Flags and Local Holiday World and Ive been to WDW 10+ times so Im excited about going but more excited about seeing her

On the night you arrive try and get an ADR for Ohana about 1/2 an hour before Wishes starts. When you get to the resaurant ask for a window seat. We did this on our first trip and it was a great way to start feeling the magic. So much so that we have done this on every trip since.

My best tip isn't a show or a character or a special meal....it's simply to slow down and take it all in! Another poster already said, you won't "see it all" so don't try! But so many people are in such a hurry to go here or see this, that they totally miss the atmosphere which is what makes it magical to begin with. Look for "hidden Mickey's" as you wait in a queue, try to find the bride's ring in the pavement at the end of the Haunted Mansion exit, look at the names over the windows on Main St. in the Magic Kingdom (most of them are pretty clever!), watch the fountains in Epcot as they rise and fall to some spectacular music....the list is endless, but I find those "little things" really make a difference.

Definitely stay on-site!!!

I would definately recommend getting into the MK early one day (we prefer to get an 8:05 reservation for Crystal Palace) so that you can take in Main Street without all the crowds.

Definitely eat a meal at Cindy's. We like to plan a dinner time there about 1:30 hour before the start of Wishes so that we can come out and get a front row seat

Don't do the parks commando style. Take your time walking around and just look at all the little details around the park.

Be a kid again! Get her an autograph book and have her picture taken with characters whenever you can.

Buy her one special souvineer to rememer your trip by!

Finally, go and have a magical vacation! I'm sure she will be a Disney lover from the moment she steps foot on Disney Property!
