does anyone have any hard and fast "do's and don'ts" for Christmas at Disney? We'll be traveling there during Thanksgiving and staying until the week following.

:santa: :yay:

We are also going for Christmas. My children are 14, and twins 11. WE are going the week after Christmas and all I have gotten is how busy it will be. We are leaving Christmas morning and I am not telling them until they open their present which says "Get in the car we are going to Disney world". I need some good advice about for sure things to do and not miss. We also have never done Universal. Any ideas about that?

Goofymom,
How fun! Your kids will be so excited! Who cares if it's crowded? Your kids will never forget such a great Christmas morning.

We've done Disney from Christmas to New Years two years out of the past five. Yes, it is crowded, but it sure is awesome to be visiting the mouse during that time. I thought it would be weird being away from home for the holiday, but it was definitely a must do for us and totally worth it! I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. :thumbsup2

Christmas at Disney has become a family tradition for us. Must do's for us include taking time to check out (and photograph, of course) all the holiday decorations, watch the holiday parades and shows, drink lots of hot chocolate during evening EMH's, have a family photograph taken with Santa (either at our resort or where we're having Christmas Eve dinner), give a treat/day to the kids instead of a bunch of stuff Christmas morning (The kids just don't want to spend time opening gifts when there are parks to be conquered), watching Disney Christmas cartoons before bed on Christmas Eve, having a character brunch Christmas morning, Christmas dinner at Whispering Canyon, listening to the storytellers at Epcot (We spread this over a few days so the kids don't grow bored with it.), eating sugared almonds while walking through the Osborne Lights settings, etc. We've learned that it's best to plan a more relaxed trip at Christmas. Take it easy, and enjoy!!!
