Although some way off there is no time like the present to start planning.

We are after any top tips on the Caribbean Beach Resort having never been there before.

Any suggestions on where to stay, how far to walk to Epcot, Boardwalk etc. Where to eat on site and anything else that you think would help us getting excited.

thanks:teeth:

No such thing as 'too soon' for WDW trip planning! ;)

It's years since we stayed at CBR (our first taste of on-site accommodation!) and I believe they now charge a supplement for requesting certain areas nearest the main building, but maybe someone else will have more details on that.

We were in a building about as far from the main area as possible, but even then it took us only about 10 minutes to walk to anywhere in the resort.

I don't think it's viable to walk to Epcot or the Boardwalk - it may not be very far, but there are no real pavements linking them to the resorts. We found the WDW bus system to be very efficient and getting to the parks and back is very easy. Getting from resort to resort (such as the Boardwalk) is not so straightforward, but you can use the parks to change from one resort bus to another. After park closing the easiest way around the resorts is via Downtown Disney, but it can take forever!

The word is that they will be making Martinique and Trinidad North preferred view locations but I would recommend Jamaica or Aruba which are across the bridge - it is a very pleasant walk across the bridge through Parrot Cay Island to the "Old Port Royale" - the centre where the food court and Shutters etc are, plus the main pool and the marina.

The most remote 'village' is Trinidad South.

Walking to one of the parks is not really an option from the CBR as Hilary says - but you are well served by the WDW transportation busses.

I'm staying there in December as one of the resorts for my "long" stay so I can let you know when I return :)
