Tips for booking CRT?

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered a zillion times, but I searched and didn't see anything recent. Given that things change, I wanted to be sure I had the most up-to-date tips/strategy for scoring a CRT ADR. So . . . tips? strategy?

We will be a party of 2 going the last weekend in September. We are open to going for breakfast or lunch. I know that the ADR window opens at 6am for online reservations. Anyone have any advice that might help us get an ADR?

Thanks!!

it was 2013 but I had no problem at 6AM 180 days from the date we wanted to eat there getting the exact time (12 noon) that I wanted.

CRT booking question: I currently have been able to book CRT for a party of 4 on the day I want. The thing is ... there are 6 of us. Our trip was booked within the 180 day window, so CRT was already full when I first looked. Randomly the party of 4 res became available and I grabbed it.

If I am able to book a res for party of 2 at the same time and ask to combine the reservations, is that something they can do?
Has anyone had luck adding to a CRT reservation at the hostess booth on day of?
Any other tips for plussing a res?
thanks!

I had this problem last summer as a party of 10. I was able to book two reservations of 5 people each. When we arrived at the park I went to CRT podium and explained we were a party of 10 consisting of 3 separate families. The hostess said she would "try to seat us together" - which is totally understandable as it was two reservations.
When we were seated, we were seated at a 6 top and a 4 top next to each other. The server then moved the two tables together to make one big table after we told him we were one big party. Server was very accommodating.

I suggest calling at different times every day. Never know if someone might cancel a reservation for the number you need. Good luck!

Do you know if calling yields better results than the online reservation system?

For a larger party it was easier for me to call being I had to split the reservation. This year I was making reservations for a party of 7 - couldn't reserve anything higher than a party of 6 so I had to call. Good luck with your reservations!

Thanks for your advice. I have a party of 5, but we could reduce to 3, so I've been searching everything from 2, 3 and 5 tops for any day and any meal our whole week, with no luck. I'll keep trying daily!
