Tips for BOG Breakfast

My family and I are not big eaters and I dont want to make myself super full before running around the park so we usually split between two of us. I like the open face bacon and egg sandwich. It is made with brie cheese so it is really rich. Half of that and a couple of bites of pastry and I am more than satisfied.

I had the Croque Madame and enjoyed it, although the sauce on the side would be my preference next time as it was a little salty to me. That said, I rarely salt my food, so most would probably be fine with it. I had a nice quiet breakfast in the West Wing, and then filled up my coffee and went off to the park and had a great day.

We did breakfast here on our last trip and loved it! My hubby and I did split a meal but our kids each ordered their own. My daughter had the crossaint doughnut and it was amazing; they were so nice about putting everything on the side for her too since she didn't want bananas or sauce on it. We already have a reservation for our next trip to do breakfast again. If you can snag a table in the West Wing, it's very cool atmosphere wise.

I don't like that as of right now Disney has made early access to the MK available by allowing an ADR to BOG where one can order as little as a Mickey Straw and a glass of tap water and then head out and over to 7DMT. But it is what it is until Disney introduces a Prix Fixe menu (if ever). So with that feel free without any guilt or concerns and enjoy as much or as little as you want at BOG and enjoy your early entry into the park. :goodvibes

Based on the menu prices available online, I wonder if Disney has already priced "early admission" into BOG's offering. There are some breakfast items that cost twice as much as a lunch entree!! How much is a Mickey Straw, by the way??:-)

We have an ADR for BOG at 8:05am our first morning at the parks.

Questions:
What time should we arrive out front in order to get in early for the breakfast?
How long does it take to walk from the entrance of MK to BOG?
Will Guest Services be open this early before the park opens?
My guess is yes. Will they let us in even earlier if we say we need to go there first before BOG?

Do people really order that with a glass of water (complimentary, I assume)?? I might consider getting that with a juice or something.

LAX

Idk, it looks like people do. My one time there I did not like it. I can see the benefits of getting just a straw if I wanted to do 7dmt but not to eat there.

Is it your first visit? Have you been to DL? It took me about 5-10 minutes to walk there. It's behind castle to the right and then around mine train. Im sure someone will have a better idea of time for you.

It will be my first time at BOG. I haven't been in Disney World for about 10 years.

They start letting people in about 7:45, IIRC. Don't know about guest services. I'd say 10 minutes from town square to BOG. I get the idea they don't really care when your reservation is, just get in line.

Would this strategy be frowned upon by a party of 5 (I mean 1 cupcake & 1 coffee total)?? Or should we order 1 item per person?? The prices are insane even for lunch, let alone breakfast!

LAX

The prices are unreasonable, no doubt. My thought is if enough do that, go in with 5 people and order one cupcake soon enough it will be an option taken away. I am all for splitting meals for small eaters or to make it affordable but it doesn't gain you so much that it is worth taking the reservation from those who want to enjoy a breakfast just because you want to ride rides early. Early entry also accomplishes that If you get to the park promptly or of course fastpasses. Dont get me wrong BOG for early access is awesome. If you order a couple breakfast for 4 to share and one just gets a muffin that is less likely to cause them to put an end to allowing the option.. just my2 1/2 cents (inflation:)
As for timing we had an 8am, had plenty of time to eat wander and look around and still head out at 845 to que up for mine train and ride with no wait and hit a few more in the area just before the crowds..Pan and Pooh! Now would i pay for inflated$ brekkie just to do that again? No. Split maybe but I was underwhelmed with the lukewarm food for the price.

Get a table in the West Wing! We really enjoyed the ambiance in there and some of the families with smaller children seem to shy away from it due to the thunder and lightening effects...

I didn't know there was thunder and lightening! We really enjoyed the "snowing" in the main ballroom. Does the library have any special effects?

good thread. a few additional questions. We have an ADR for 8:25am in August. We plan on pre-ordering.

Am I safe in assuming they'll let us in the park around 7:45, at the same time someone with an 8:05 ADR is let into the park? And we just need to get in line? Or, do they check your times and only let you into the parks on a staged basis?

Also, the breakfast items look very filling - and appear to come with pastries as well? If I order a breakfast to split with my DD, we get the breakfast AND a plate of pastries? And if my DS and DH order their own, they each get an additional plate of pastries? Or is it one plate per table? I've considered bringing baggies for the pastries because there is no way we could eat all that (I've seen some pictures posted on google that really make it look like a lot), but if I'm paying for it, I'm taking them. LOL My standard breakfast is yogurt and coffee. LOL

If we preorder, how do we get our food? Show up at the counter and let them know we're there? Will it not be ready until 8:25 if that is when our ADR is?

We will be on the dining plan, so I'm guessing we still have to go to the counter to settle the bill?

I'm sorry for all the questions. This is our first time doing an ADR for a QS as well as ADR into a park before they open and I'm a bit confused how it all works, then throw in the advance ordering and my mind is blown. I'm hoping to get in, get our food, eat some of it, and be in line for 7DMT by about 9:15/9:30.

It is one plate of pastries per table. They're a fairly generic quality of bulk pastry.

The kids meals are tiny.

If you preorder, you have to confirm and pay anyway BEFORE seating yourself.

Is the plate of pastries complimentary with a breakfast entree? If so, that makes the prices a bit more reasonable.

At those prices there is nothing complimentary about a $24 fried dougnut with a little sauce and whip cream on it or a $24 Disney version Egg McMuffin. :rotfl2: The plate of pastries is per table, not per entree. The pastries are your typical Sam's Club or Entenmanns quality pastries though, nothing special about them.

I like to compare them to the formerly-frozen pastries one might find at a Methodist coffee-and-doughnut event.

To anyone that has ordered the sandwich with the poached egg- is the egg fully cooked or with a runny or soft yolk?
