Tips for 1st family with DD undergoing chemo?

I haven't been to WDW yet so I don't have any suggestions but I just wanted to send Hugs and Pixie Dust to your family  I hope your trip is wonderful!

I too am lifting prayers up for your little one..go and enjoy the magic of Disney

Might be a good idea to have your doctor recommend a ped in Orlando just in case she does get sick, along with taking a medical history from her doctor so that if she should happen to need care, the physician will have a better idea of what is going on with her and can contact your doctor at home if needed.
Lots of rest periods, good hand washing, good nutrition for all of you will go a long way in making sure you all have a great and safe time!
Prayers and good wishes will go along with you from your fellow Dis'ers!

I just came home from WDW New Year's eve.
I had a chemo treatment December 6th.
Luckily the week I was in Orlando was record high temps hitting 80.... My drug from 12/6 was not one that made me photosensitive (not all chemo drugs cause photosensitivity BTW).
Because my blood counts are so low.....I am super sensitive to cold.
The flight to and from Orlando was freezing. I had bought my own piece of fleece to use as a blanky and used that both ways and used a few airline blankets on my legs (I was wearing jeans)...I used it at night in the parks sometimes also.

When in Florida, you can be totally warm one minute then go into a Disney resturaunt or shoppe and FREEZE. Bring her a cozy jacket to throw on. It also happened in off property resturaunts. Heck, I wish I had taken my gloves with me.

I brought hand sanitizer. Never used it. I found the disney bathrooms had hand operated water faucets and made sure to get paper towels before I washed my hands....so I didn't touch the dispenser after my hands were washed. I also made sure to try not to use/touch railings as much as possible and made sure to wash hands before eating.
I did see that according to airline rules- you cannot use a personal air purifier on the airplanes (I would have gotten one)....

I made sure to bring my Tylenol and thermometer, anti-diarheeals, Benadryl cream, etc. I also have an IV line in my arm, so I put all that stuff in my carry-ons.
Funny thing- on the way home- we tried to consolidate bags and get rid of some carry-ons since we also had a wheelchair. It made our checked bag too heavy- so in order not to pay 20$ surcharge, we had to use the two carry-on bags and we had to throw clothes in it to get the weight out of our checked bag.....

Enjoy the trip!!!!
