Hey all! God willing we will be going in August and our now fourth child will be 14 months old...something I said I'd never do...take a baby to WDW!! But I just can't wait much longer!!

So how is it? Will August be too hot or will she hopefully just be knocked out by the heat and sleep in the stroller? :) TIA!!

Awww! Cograts on your DD :) While it is HOT in August I would just prepare for it and all will be fine :) We took my son who was about 15 months last December and while the weather was much cooler than in August he did great. Sunscreen, cool mist fans, lots of breaks in stores or back to the hotel during the mid afternoons...POOL TIME! Baby Care Centers at each Park are great places to feed, change diapers and rest and they are cool to boot :)

Take lots of drinks and sippy cups with you each day in a cooler pack, extra clothes and swim diapers so she can splash in the water areas. My son was VERY mobile at this point so we took his Monkey harness and he had some free time out of the stroller and at the play areas at MK and AK when we were not at the resort. If you have one of those sun umbrellas for the stroller they are great or a fan that clips on too the stroller as well. I have never used these but have seen others with them at the parks. Also dont forget a hat for her head and sunglasses if she will keep them on that is! light colored Tees and cotton shorts are the best along with sandals/Crocs or canvas sneaks for little ones. Make restaurant reservations as early as your little one eats at home and stick to that routine to avoid HUNGER meltdowns. We took lots of Cheerios and fishy crackers with us each day along with disposable bibs and baby silverwear. I also took lots of antibacterial wipes and baby wipes each day to the parks.

August can also be very crowded so prepare for waiting in lines with little toys or distractions...your boys can entertain her I am sure :)

Most of all expect some meltdowns and have a great trip with the fam!

We were at Disney this past August and my youngest was 14 months. He did great. We rented a stroller from Orlando Strollers. We also brought a fan that attached to the stroller, water misters and made sure to bring sippys for him to drink while we were in the parks. We would be there when the park opened, get some lunch and then head back to the hotel to swim and nap. We would then head back out for dinner. When he got tired in the parks, we would put the seat down in the stroller and he would nap. We usually just tried to find a cool shady spot for a while to help him get to sleep. Otherwise, there were plenty of rides and play areas for him to try out. Most of all, though, he loved the pool. We stayed at the Polynesian and the zero entry is the best thing ever. For him to be able to walk around and splash - he thought that was the greatest!

One nice little packing tip I used for my son when he was 18 months old...

I packed his outfits in a quart size bag. I would pack a pair of pants or shorts, matching shirt, and socks in each bag. Of course I packed extras!!! But every day, I would just grab a bag and I knew there would be a matching outfit inside. I would also take an extra bag of clothes with me to the park. It was really easy to do and was a great space saver!
