Tipping

We are new DVC members and our first trip home is October 30. With regard to DVC facilities what is the norm regarding tipping --they do not come to room on a daily basis so what have others done??

Disney's housekeepers are non-tipped employees, so if you wish to leave a gratuity, leave whatever amount you wish. There is no expectation.

Bell services should be tipped $1-$2 per bag. Valets should be tipped at least $2 when they return your car to you. Restaurant servers should be tipped just like at other restaurants.

Thanks for your answer but I was mainly talking about the room cleaning ladies. I know when you stay DVC they only come maybe once during your stay, is that correct? We are staying 5 nights at SSR and as I said it is our first Home trip. I know about the tipping at restaurants and bellmen etc. but thanks for the information.

We just got back from VB, we tipped $5.00 at the end of our stay. Same with our trip to the BWV in March.
Can anyone give imput in tipping when you pick up food from counter service? At VB when we charged food to our card at the pool, the slip printed out with a spot for a tip. Now I don't want to come accross as cheap, but the counter food seems high as it is and when I order food from lets say pizza hut or subway I don't tip. Whats the difference? Please nobody be mean about this, i'm just wondering.
