Who do we tip???

I know we tip Mousekeeping, we have all the envelopes printed for daily mousekeeping tips. And, we have DDP, so we need tips for the servers, other than that, who?

Do we tip the ME driver? If so, how much?

Who else gets tipped?

Do we tip the ME driver? If so, how much? We did because we flew SW and had to carry our own luggage back tot he airport. I think my DH gave him $5...we had 2 bags and an umbrella stroller.

Who else gets tipped?
If you use a bellhop they would get tipped too I suppose (we were at Pop so that was not an issue).

My hubby and I have only used magical express once and he's one of those folks that will tip you for saying hi to him. The ME driver grabed our luggage [a rolling carry on and two checked pieces] and put it in and took it off the bus. My husband slipped him a ten, five for each of us. I personally think that's a bit much, but I also don't mind tipping for good, friendly service even if it is viewed as "doing their job". If you think you received exceptional service then feel free to slip the driver a few bucks, if you don't feel comfortable doing so then don't. It's all up to you:)

I agree with bas71873, don't forget to tip the bellhop if you choose to use their services on your departure (DME delivers your luggage directly to your room on your arrival day). Standard tip is $1 per bag.

Have a great trip!

Thanks, everyone!

bas78173 - looks like we are arriving the same day!!!! We are staying at POFQ and going to the MNSSHP on the 5th!

For those of you that tip mousekeeping... do you do it daily or at the end of your stay?
(I will be tipping them no matter what.. so please please please let's keep this nice happy tipping thread debate free:goodvibes :rotfl: )
I was thinking daily as you would have different people on different days?:confused3

To the Op... I think you would also tip valet parking if you used any. Not sure though.:)

We tip mousekeeping daily. Especially since there is always the possibility of having different mousekeepers each day.

We tip Mousekeeping (or any maid service) daily in case they change their schedules or are off when we check out. Bell services we tip $2.00 per bag. ME driver is usually $7-10. We flew out of LaGuardia airport to Hilton Head in April and it was mandatory that we give $3.00 per bag for curbside check in and the sky cap made sure he pointed to the sign to let me know that tip was not included. We would have tipped him anyway but made sure that we did so that our luggage did not wind up in Europe! We tip everyone sometimes to a fault but we believe in giving a little extra for good service.

Thanks, everyone!

And from the looks of the the boards, we may be the only people at MNSSHP on the 5th...which is fine by me!! Have you stayed at POFQ before? This is our first time....DD is very excited about the pink dragon slide at the pool :)...although she does not know about the trip yet...she just saw a show with the slide and said she wanted to stay there!!!

How much do you tip Mousekeeping daily? Our last trip was 4 nights/5 days and we left $10 at the end. Is that customary, $2 per day? Or was I stingy? It was a long time ago so maybe I have to up my tip envelope?

I think the rule of thumb for Mousekeeping is $1-$2per day/per person in your party. There are 3 of us. I tip $5/day. BTW, it has to be said that the more you tip...the better towel animals you receive!!!

I have my tips set aside for mousekeeping and I will have to try and figure tips for TS, but does anyone tip for CS? Or is it just like going for McD's?
Does anyone tip their delivery person from Garden Grocer?

CS is like McD's...no tips. You serve yourself. SO your only other tips will be for CS. I don't think you tip garden grocer because I don't think you actually see them.

With regards to garden grocer....when you place your order there is space for a tip to be added to your bill....I actually don't like that and prefer to be there when the order is delivered then I know it's getting to the right person.....I guess that's just my nature (glass half empty?) but it's my feelings.

This made me think... what about buffets? I've only eaten at buffets during free dining when the tip used to be included, so I honestly never even noticed if a tip is expected at a buffet restaurant or not. Growing up, my parents never tipped at buffets and I didn't even know it was common practice to tip at buffets until I was in my 30s! :scared1:

If a tip is expected at a WDW buffet, do they still expect the same 18% as at a TS? It seems a little much since the servers really don't do as much work as at a TS, they just seat you, fill your drinks, and bring the bill and a busser clears the table -- it's not nearly as much service as you'd get in a full-service TS restaurant.

I hope I'm not coming across as stingy, I just really don't know how to budget now that we have to pay our own tips during free dining and I'd rather find out now than look like a tightwad when we're there.

I have always tipped at buffets. At Disney, we have found the service (like at Boma) to exceptional - so we have tipped the usual 15 - 20%. My DS has allergies, and the chef brought out such wonderful items for him the first time - made just for him! Definitely tip at a Disney buffet.

We leave $5 per day for mousekeeping (maybe less if I don't have enough cash with me while leaving the room in the morning, sometimes a lot more if we have an extra thing we are needing, like when I've needed the sheets changed when my kids were sick and I wanted to make sure the germs were all gone, gave and extra $20 that time, or if I request a bunch of extra towels and pillows I give them some money for that, or if they bring the fridge I give them a few dollars to deliver that, as we always need one for medical reasons).

I think any time they do something nice and it seems like a tipped position I tip.

Definitely bellhop, about $2 per bag. Depends on how much stuff you have and what you feel comfortable with.

We have not stayed at POFQ - we have not been to Disney in 18 years! (See my pre-trip report, linked in my sig) I chose it based on reviews and the small size. The 5th does not look like too popular a MNSSHP, does it?

Are you dressing up? My kids are going to be Indiana Jones, the adults...not sure yet!
