I know that there is a thread for this but I keep reading conflicting things ;/ Is tip included at Akershurs (princess storybook dining) or is it not?? Also I can't seem to find anything about tipping mousekeeping:confused3 Do they leave an envelope at the end of your stay, or are you supposed to tip per day? Either way, how much are you supposed to leave per day..well not "supposed" but the average per day?

Thanks!

We were just at Akershus last week and the tip is NOT included.

Tipping housekeeping (Mousekeeping) is a standard thing at all hotels around the country, as far as I know. I believe we left $2/day (ASMusic).

You can leave the tip daily or at the end of your stay (different people may clean your room on different days). I would leave it in a labeled envelope so they know it is for them and not just something you left in the room.

$2 a day for 4 people?? I feel bad leaving only 2.. This is why I asked here though!1 I wanna see what the average is.. if 2 is it, I'm changing the amount in my envelopes!! Unless you meant $2 per person inw hich case I'm not changing my envelopes:rotfl:

and ftr I never stay at hotels lol thats why I have no clue:goodvibes I appreciate your advice very much!

Without wanting to start one of the many tipping debates here I will let you know what I tip as someone who does believe in tipping for good service.
I tip 20% on my buffet meals and my TS meals.
I did tip at BBB. Once again I tipped approx. 20% b/c she a fanatastic job and spent a great deal of time with my daughter.
And yes, I would leave a tip for mousekeeping as well. Since the maids tend to change daily I always suggest a daily tip for the maids that is dependant on the number of guests in your room and probably how much mess you leave.
Hope this helps!

It wasn't four people, it was 3 and we kept the place pretty clean on our own. No children or anything. For the higher end resorts where they have bigger rooms to clean etc. I could see more money per day, for a value $2 would be fine IMO. The standard is anywhere from $1-$5.

No tip included at Akershus.

Tipping housekeeping or other servicepeople is off-topic for the restaurant boards, but many WDW guests tip housekeeping. Disney itself says it is not customary to tip housekeepers (they make minimum wage or above), but most guests seem to prefer to do it.

The tipping sticky thread is there because tipping threads on the regular boards tend to degenerate into fights. Tipping, for some reason, is the hottest of buttons on this board. Therefore, we've asked that all tipping questions be posted to the tipping information thread at

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1870320

The first post outlines the restaurant board policy for tipping discussions.
