when i booked a couple of my ADR's the CM said gratuity is included. we have 8 people. so this means they tell me how much to tip OOP, right? in the past the DDP included tip and they would say the same thing, they should really clarify on the phone.

You're right on ALL counts - and it couldn't hurt to e-mail Disney (contact information available at disneyworld.com, or some DISer may have it - I think I know, but don't want to give you bad information) and suggest that the reservationists make it clear what they mean by "gratuity is included".

Now, if your reservations are for dinner shows, the gratuity IS included - covered by your Dining Plan credits. But it's confusing.

oh so, for the hoopdeedoo, i wont have to tip? im sorry im confused. my tip is included? is taht why it takes 2 credits? so the gratuity is in the price of the meal?

Hoop dee doo, the luau and Cinderell's table, mickey's back yard include tips. We tried to do all of them but only 3 worked out in our time table.

Tips are included in the meal price for CRT and the dinner shows. They are not included in the price for any other meal.

You have more than six people, so you will be charged an automatic 18% tip at any TS other than the ones listed above. They may have been trying to tell you that your tip will automatically be figured for you, but it is not included in the price of the meal.

We will have six people in our party but it will be 2 seperate bills, four people on one and my parents (2) on the other. Will each bill get an automatic charge of 18%? I was hoping to just leave cash for each TS meal tip.

Thanks for any answers. I want to make sure I know what I am doing before I get there so that my parents are aware and don't get surprised with any large tip bills.:thumbsup2

I had them say INCLUDED to me too. Thankfully I knew better. I truly believe they are using the wrong wording for this situation, and the unfortunate part is there will be ticked off people (either the curtomers or the wait staff.)

Jellybeans, you are totally right- It would be totally avoidable by changing the word included...or just a better explaination.

If you are booked under one reservation (even if they said party of 6, 2 tables of 3.) then you will get the auto tip.

If you had 2 ressies but the restaurant is willing to seat you together, you will get the auto tip.

You can still leave cash, but it has to be the amount (or more than) that is listed as your required tip.

If you have 2 checks then each check will still inclued it's portion of the tip. ie: your parents will get a tip bill for their 2 meals, and you will get a tip bill for your 4 meals.

Hope that helps a little :)

Thanks!:goodvibes So since there are six of us we will each get an automatic charge of 18% on whatever each of our bills might be? Say for example, their bill is 50.00 so they will get a tip charge of 9.00 and if ours is 100.00 we'll get a tip charge of 18.00? I just want to make sure I am understanding it so that I can explain it to them and they will be prepared.:)

Thanks again for answering my question.

This is true unless each table has a different server.

That is EXACTLY how it is supposed to work. Just check your bills, sometimes even a great server will accidently put your salad on moms bill and her 3 martinis on yours. :)

 No kidding!

Thanks again for answering my questions. I just wanted to make sure I was understanding the whole deal.
