What do you tip the limo driver? trip is from LAX to PP, cost is $99.

we did the limo before from LAX to Anaheim and we tipped $20.

They had a sign with our daughters names on it waiting by the lugggage.

cheers

The general rule of thumb is 20% for pretty much anything that gets a tip. Some people tip 15% which is okay too--but I find it easier to calculate quickly at 20% and would rather just bump it up anyway.

So, 20% of 100.00 is 20.00, as the previous poster mentioned.

$20 here, too. We were also met in baggage (and our plane was 30 min early!)

another side note.......

while 15%-20% is considered standard I have also gone well above and well below based on service.

again it is all based on service (in case of the limo the cleanliness and attitude of the driver)

cheers

20% for anything.

And while I agree that tipping is for service, I only expect average service for my 20% rule to kick in. I think too many people find excuses* to not tip appropriately. Not you, Previous Poeter, just people in general.

*"I had to ask for a water refill," or, "It took too long for her to take our order," etc.

Thanx guys for your responses. I don't mind tipping, but sometimes I think we overtip because we don't know the rule and don't want to seem stingy :rotfl: Of course, then I read somewhere (here on the DIS) that CM aren't allowed to receive tips so I didn't tip our guides after the Lights, Camera, Magic tour. Boy did I feel like a heel when with in the week I was researching another tour, and right on the Disney website it gives a standard for tipping tour guides :sad2:

$20 seems like a good/fair minimum point to start.

For those of you who had the driver waiting with a sign, was that recent? I thought that limo drivers had to wait off site until you had your luggage and were waiting on the curb for them. (last time we used a limo was many years ago, but after 9/11, and that was supposedly a post 9/11 policy)

At LAX there is a spot just off the luggare claim are where the limo was parked. It was very close about 30 second walk.

Over vist was well after 9/11.

cheers
