Tipping..if on Premium Plan?

I have read about the Parasailing and other items about tipping them. I had no idea you were supposed to tip them (tells you what I know!)

Now, if you are on the Premium plan would those tips be included or not? I'm assuming not since I wouldn't have even thought of it as a tipped position.

We have a fishing excursion & parasailing planned.

Based on our past experience with the Platinum Plan where parasailing was included.... At the bottom of your receipt it states "gratuity not included" - noticed this after we were back in our room... :confused3 We felt like very bad people... However, I asked our Plat. Plan coordinator about what tips were not included and she told us that with the exception of housekeeping, all "tipped positions" would receive their tip. Go figure... Oh well... I don't know whether they've changed it for the new Premium Plan or not; but I would imagine it would be stated on your receipt.

Thanks, hmm...this sounds just as confusing as I thought! LOL!!! I knew housekeeping wasn't included but just figured that was the only thing I had to worry about with tips (and bell services - we don't usually use valet) but other than those general ones everything else was taken care of! :confused3

Wonder if I'll get a straight answer if I ask Disney???

Becky, I remember reading on another Thread that people who had the new Dining Plan were also getting receipt which stated that Tip was not included. We all know that the plan states it includes 15% tip. So I think this may be a glitch in the system for both plans, and of course if you have excellent service and want to leave more you can.

Hi, Becky-

We were told that all tips were included for our trip in Dec by two different CMs. I know that we'll tip extra if we're so inclined, but part of the appeal of the PP was that tips were already included.

What I'm wondering: Do we have "credits" like the regular MYW Dining, we just have a lot more with the PP?

Have fun!

Yes, that's what I'm concerned about DH getting a tad bit upset if he's turning around having to tip a bunch of people when we were under the impression it was included. I just asked my travel agent and so the answer is no one at Disney is 100% but fairly certain they are included. She's double checking for me.

I am under the impression that the way PP works for dining is that you get 3 credits/day per person. There is no breakdown though like MYWDining that has the Table Service/Counter Service, etc..; it's just 3 meal credits. So for example, we have 5 people paying for the plan for 6 nights so we *should* get 5 x 3 x 6 = 90. THAT's the way I understand it.

Ok what do you tip Parasailing if your not on PP? We are planning on doing this in August and wasn't aware we were supposed to tip them. Any answers would be great.

OK, I just got an e-mail back from my travel agent and since activities are not considered a tipped position, it is not included on the package. The tax is but not the tip.

Which then I *also* want to know what the standard tip is - 10%?

That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure.... And just like the regular dining plan, if we technically wanted to eat four meals one day and two the next, because we have "credits", we could, right?

Now, even though I know that we won't be wanting for food, doesn't it seem odd to you that we have to pay for ice cream, popcorn, etc, out of pocket? For what you're paying for with the PP, it would seem like it should be included. With all of the wonderful amazing perks (in my best Carnival Barker voice) La Nouba! Parasailing! Horseback Riding! Signature Restaurants! Deluxe Accommodations! Golf! Boat Rentals! - and then - oh, by the way, Mickey ears and popcorn are not included - seems so silly. For some reason, that irritates me...

Thanks again, Becky! :flower:

What do you normally tip for the parasailing? This is the first I heard of it. We are going parasailing for our first time in August, but I didn't know we were supposed to also tip.

:rotfl: Yes, that's the way I understand it too, you get 3 meals per NIGHT (we have to be careful there because we did the room only, package, room only, so have to make sure we don't end up short on our check-out day since we will be there in the morning of the first day!). Although, I'm thinking if we have left-over points we will be going to the food court for a midnight meal!

Actually, we *seriously* considered the old Platinum plan because it DID include 3 meals PLUS snack each day (I think it was 1 snack) not to mention Room Service was included, etc... but they don't have one like it now. We decided at the time it wasn't worth the extra cost so went Gold, then changed over to MYW Premium because it was cheaper for us.

(I have not seen a *truly* all inclusive plan where you just go wherever you want and get as many snacks and things you want - that would be costly but quite nice! :p )

Mommi97 - I don't know the standard amount, I would like to know too! I'm guessing 10% but I have no clue.
