Hello Disney Friends!
Me and my family are going on a cruise in a week! :goodvibes And anyway we heard you have to tip the room service. So we were wondering what is a good amount??? :confused3

You don't have to tip anyone. That said, it is customary to tip the CM who brings your room service tray a few dollars depending on the size of the order. You can hand them cash or sign the slip they bring indicating a tip to be charged to your KTTW account.

There is no charge for food, milk, fruit juice, etc. from room service. THere is a charge for sodas and alcoholic beverages. Those items have an automatic 15% tip added.

I usually gave $1-2 for a pot of coffee. I guess it should be more if you have a bigger order.

I'd say we averaged $2-4 dollars tip for the delivery person. It has only been DH and I, but if you have a family, I would tip $1-2 per entree or whatever you order. They are always super friendly and very prompt....well deserving of a good tip (above the customary 15% for any charged beverage orders as well...that goes to many other CM's...)

Thank you for ALL your help...the servers will now get a good tip because of all your help

Feel free to keep posting!!!! :woohoo:

We always tried to make our tip something different. We would always tip in 'Gold' Dollar Coins or in $2 bills! I always visited my bank ahead of time and gathered enough of both for tips. I put them in a drawer so that if my son ordered room service, the tip would come from that drawer. The staff seemed to really love that!

we usually tip $3-$4 for room service....typical order would be maybe a plate of cookies, a chicken tender meal, and maybe a pitcher of iced tea....I would be inclined to tip a few dollars more for a larger order....

This is a great idea!! I have easy access to gold dollars at our local train station. Do you ask your bank for the $2 bills? TIA!

Two-foxes, I love your ultrasound image!!!:lmao:

Yes, the bank keeps a small amount of $2 in the vault. You may want to check with your bank to make sure they don't have to order them.

:cheer2: Tina
