So my DH and I were talking about this and I want to see if he is right or if I am.

The bellman take your bags when you checkin and hold them until you get to your room. You then call down and they bring up your bags. Do you tip both times? If so how much per bag?

I usually tip $1 a bag, and usually only when they bring them up. Sometimes, I may just slip them a $5 though.

I am not sure how many bags we had probably 5 or so and a cooler. But my husband tipped both times at ten dollars each.

I tip them approx a dollar a large bag each time. The guy at the curb is usually not the same person who brings it up. I don't tip for the lap top or small bags as there are 5 of us and we sometimes have a lot of different bags

I always tip both times because they are two different people and both are hauling my luggage around for me.

I tip both times, $10 to $20 each.

This is our typical cart :goodvibes

Can you not take your bags with you to your room? We are going to DL for the first time in Feb. and staying at the GC. We have been to WDW many times and have never had anyone take our bags. We have always carried them to our room when we checked in. We have stayed at the Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Boardwalk. Just curious.

Sorry, don't want to steal your thread!

Yes, you can take the bags yourself. :thumbsup2 I think a lot of people use the bellman when the room won't be ready for a while (and they want to hit the parks), etc.

We have used self-park at DLH and just wheeled our bags in with us and up to the room. But if you pull into the unloading area by the front door, the bellman generally helps unload your car for you, so I would still tip them. You can still take your bags with you and avoid having to wait for them to be brought up later (and have to tip again).
