Tipping concierge vs regular stateroom?

Hi! I am hoping to stay in a concierge room on the Wish ship in 2023 and I was just wondering how much tipping is in Concierge and is it done the same way as the regular stateroom where you get the envelopes at the end of your stay?

You will get the usual envelopes for your stateroom host and servers. You do not get envelopes for the various concierge team members. As with any tipping discussion, what you deem appropriate is entirely up to you.

Ok, so there isn't a set amount for the concierge team as there are the regular staff?

Stateroom hosts and dining room servers would be the same amount as anyone else on the ship.

I can’t remember the exact amount for our host, but it was more than when we cruise in a Cat 4 room. Our host just made the whole thing so nice for us, got to know us and left little fun things for us everyday. He made it special.

If we have a 1 br suite or the Royal Suite, we always tip more than the standard room as there is much more room to clean. We normally double the tip for the room steward on the 1 BR and triple it for the Royal.

You are certainly welcome to tip more - you can in ANY stateroom. But the baseline is the same. There are some lines where the suites are charged higher rates for the baseline tip - which is whyI was thinking the OP might have been asking about the baseline amounts.

Concierge tips for some reason are just not a standard like the standard rooms.

We always tip more on suites to our room steward, we tip the bartender, we tip the person who restocks the food and we try to be generous with the Hosts.............as they are the one that make the stay incredible for our 8 yr old DD.

Now that these folks have been unemployed basically for a year and a half.................these tips will be more important than ever!

The stateroom host will be the same amount as other categories. If you are in a 1 bedroom or Royal Suite, you should tip more because it's more work. As for the concierge hosts - it is at your discretion and is generally based on how many services they perform. It's possible that on the Wish they will change it to a set amount that you can add on to. I think that would be MUCH better, but only time will tell what DCL will do. (And yes, you should also tip the bartender and the person who works the food/drink.) There are considerable expenses for tipping when sailing in concierge that is not currently included.

We have actually developed some "friendships" I would say with some hosts, bartenders, etc over the years and we really enjoy making sure we do a good job showing our appreciation for how they make our cruise better.

I wasn't sure if the Concierge host had a tip amount like when you pre pay gratuities when you stay in a non concierge suite as I am trying to figure out how much I need to calculate for a summer cruise in 2023. Are you still able to do the standard pre paid gratuities?

Not specific to concierge, but I tip a bartender $1 per drink whether I paid for the drink or not as their service was the same.
Exception is a work event.

I have a formula that I use for each member of the concierge team based on the number of nights, and the number of people in our party. (X per person per day) This is a baseline, and I will modify as needed (above an beyond, etc)

You will want to plan for the Concierge hosts (3 people, and they share the tips), the lounge bartender, the lounge host (sets up food in the lounge, etc), and the lounge asst host.

Although I've saved in Concierge a couple of times I just can't recall. Can you include the Concierge tips on your room charge like the regular tips?

Thank You for letting me know about 3 Concierge host that will definitely help in determining approximately how much tipping I would need and of course I always account a little extra for those who go above beyond, etc

There are a total of 6 people that I account for. (I think my wording was not clear)

3x Concierge hosts. These are the folks you will deal with for all your desires. :)
Lounge bartender - self evident. :)
Lounge host - different from the Conceirge hosts. This person keeps the food and drinks stocked, etc.
Asst Lounge host - subs for the lounge host when the lounge host is on break.
