Tipping Concierge @ AKL

Just switched my ressies at AKL from Deluxe Savannah to the Concierge level (5 of us!) As we have never stayed Concierge level, just wondering what, if any, extra you tip for this service. I always have used the standard Mousekeeping envelopes, what extra do you leave the lounge CM's and the turndown Mousekeeper?

Thanks in advance - any other suggestions for newcomers to AKL? We did put in our request for a savannah view room - don't want to look at the pool! Do all of the concierge rooms have a daybed? We will need it!

You don't have to tip the concierge staff.

Our concierge room only had a chair and 2 queen beds.

We tipped $5 a day for mousekeeping and $5 a day for turn down service. We never tipped the staff in the lounge.
We stayed in a room (6206) with a queen bed, bunk beds and a day bed. My parents were next door (6203) and they had 2 queen beds. You will love the service here, the food at the lounge is wonderful!
Here is a tip, I have heard that people don't like that you can't get water in bottles or soda at the lounge. That isn't true, all you have to do is ask the staff in the lounge and they'll get you the bottled water or soda. It was always offered to us when they found out we were heading out for the day.

It is not expected to tip the concierge staff.

If however you feel that they did go above and beyond for you and really added **magic** to your vacation, then if you feel you want to, you can buy a small gift...
for instance once I bought a nice box of chocolates for one concierge cm in particular who really made our trip extra special, and our last trip at YC concierge, after we went home, I sent a large box of really classy chocolates in hinged box, to the concierge cms, then a separate one to our itinerary planner.

another suggestion is gift certificates to restaurants, or even an AMMEX gift certificate which they can use wherever they want.

but again.... completely unnecessary... up to your discretion!
