We are planning our first vacation to WDW in six years and the first time (ever) we are staying at a Deluxe resort (Contemporary
with Concierge service).
Do the service providers expect a larger tip since it's Deluxe and Concierge or does the standard still apply?

I've never considered room tipping to be a percentage of price, like meal tipping. My policy is to tip appropriately for the amount of work the housekeeper does, without a special bump-up for a deluxe resort.

Some of the people that service you at the concierge level get the tips from the price you pay for the room it is included, a lot of people do not know this and it is not advertised. You have to check with the hotel you are staying at to find out who is tipped out of the price of the room. Of course if you go for a meal in the hotel the tip does not come out of the room price, but other people get their tips from the price you pay for the room.

the AAA guide books has info on standard tipping. It says that you are not to tip a concierge unless they do somthing for you that is out of the ordinary. Housekeeping should get $2-3 per night.

I'd be happy to follow this, with a little flexibility for special circumstances at DVC. In the case of the 1-bedrooms and up, the before-and-after cleanup is much larger than in an ordinary hotel room, but the during-visit cleanups are much less.

In any case, I'm of the opinion that tipping doesn't cost much and is an excellent motivator for low-wage employees. I can't imagine refusing to tip and then inspecting a room for every little scrap of dust. I don't care how much we're paying in dues. The housekeeping staff is still getting pretty much minimum wage.
