I just wondered if you based the tip on the sub total price, or the total receipt including the sales tax?

Thank you

The tips on the bill that they 'suggest' are based on the pre tax total. They were giving 3 different amounts on a lot of the bills this time, 15%, 18% and 20% if I remember rightly.

Thanks for letting us know that there are suggested tip amounts on the bills, makes life a little easier!

It typically is pre-tax, but I have noticed that some restaurants' (not Disney - yet) suggested tip amount is post-tax

We usually get a Tables in Wonderland card and the automatic gratuity built into it is always pre-tax so when we go outside the Disney bubble and have to pay the tip OOP we always do it pre-tax.

All bills do not give suggested tip amounts, so don't count on this. Tips should be calculated on the amount BEFORE taxes.
