Tuesday 7th August
I was up about half 7 followed by DS a little while later. I checked on the drip and it seemed to have stopped and the towel was dry but Ill still call the management company this morning to let them know.
We are meeting Halo and family today but not until 3pm and as we want to stay for Shamu rocks America we wont head into Seaworld until about lunchtime. We all went swimming after breakfast but DD wanted to come in after about an hour. She got showered and changed then spent the morning lying on the bed watching TV as she said she felt very tired. DS stayed out a bit longer then we played dry pool once he came in and he was delighted to win
after that he made some more of his Lego.
DH stayed outside until about half 11 and once he showered and changed we headed out to Seaworld. Every one was hungry so on the way we stopped at the McDonalds on site where DD discovered that their latest Happy Meal toys are from Build-A-Bear - I can see us popping in a few more times to try and complete this collection. Fed, watered and with an ice-cream each we finished at McD and headed off to Seaworld via the I-4. Traffic was slow moving and we could see a helicopter hovering overhead in the distance so we figured there was an incident up ahead. Even though the traffic was slow you still had the idiots who came roaring in from the slip roads and expected to cut right in immediately and others who were playing musical lanes to try and gain a few spaces. We passed the incident which looked like a car seriously rear ended another car and once the rubbernecking was over we went back to normal speed.
We got to Seaworld in one piece and boy was it hot again. Id say the surface of the sun would have seemed cool compared to how it felt this afternoon. They have a new turnstile system and although it let DS in last week it didnt like him today and kept saying that the Bio did not match. We were joking telling him hed have to wait in the car for us or chop his finger off to get in. Eventually the flustered CM gave up and let him in but told us to visit passport guest services to sort it out which we said wed do on the way out.
First stop was dolphins and there was one very playful one who was a joy to watch.
Next up was the Sky tower and we had fantastic views as always.
Aquatica is looking good and we cant wait to give it a try next summer.
We were just in time for the next Pets Ahoy show which we liked although one of our favourite parts which involves the dog stealing the food wasnt in the show this time. Next up was Kraken and after passing the measuring test again and getting a green wristband DS and DD went on. The ride photo of DD was a classic.
We were feeling the effects of the heat and needed a drink and as it was nearly time for our meet we headed over to the hospitality center to meet Halo and family. We stopped at the Sea lion enclosure and bought 4 trays of food for them (the Sea lions not Halo and Co) . DD was a bit reluctant to touch the fish but once she did and fed the first Sea lion she loved it.
We carried on towards our meet stopping to say hello to the horses and as it was nearly 3pm I checked my phone to find a message from Hal to say theyd be a bit late. We didnt mind as we were glad for the cold drink and a chance to cool off. We managed to find a table way over the back of the hospitality area and I got some cold drinks for the kids but the line for beer was nearly out of the park. Radar on I spotted a small area near our table with free beer and hardly any line so I went there. They had different beers to the main line and DH and I had some Wild Hops which was an organic beer. It was nice but tasted even better with some of DDs Sprite in it.
We chatted for a while the DH went to the restroom and checked to see if there was any sign of the others. Not trusting him to spot anything DD and I went, she spotted a girl that looked like Halos DD so I bravely asked the mum if she was Hals wife totally expecting her to look at me like I was a mad woman. She did that anyway but it was and we all met up. DD led the way back to our table where we sat and had a great chat for about an hour or so. They were a really nice family and Im glad we met them. Unfortunately Halos younger DD slept the whole way through the meet. We had to leave them at about half 4 to make our way to our Dine with Shamu dinner.
We got there at 4:40 to find that there was already people sitting down and eating so they must stagger the times as we all had to wait outside to be let in last year. We were given snazzy VIP backstage with Shamu lanyards which did absolutely nothing but did get everyone in the park looking to see what they were. We had a great table right at the pool side and no one turned up for the table beside us. There was a bit of a line for the buffet but the food was good. DD didnt eat much and DS only had a couple of slices of turkey and some plain pasta. The whale interaction was as good as before and the trainers came to all the tables to chat to the diners. DD got the trainer to sign her lanyard.
It was about half five and as much as we wanted to see the Shamu Rocks we knew that DS was just not up to being in the park another 3 hours so we decided to look at the Sharks then make our way home and try and see the show another night. The Sharks exhibit was as good as ever and on the way in we spotted Halos DDs about to go in for their Pizza Party so we said a quick hello. We left the park about half 6 and stopped in Passport services to ask about DSs pass. They said it was OK and to tell the CM on the gate to reset the bio next time we used it.
We made our way back to the villa and as there was thunder and lightening around there was no swimming in the pool which was just as well as both kids seemed tired. We just chilled and watched some TV before bed at half 9. DS has been staying up later than us watching the TV in his room, he thinks its great to be able to watch TV in bed all night but I dont think hell be getting a TV in his room in Ireland just yet.
Tomorrow - Build a Bear at the Altamonte Springs Mall.
