Tinkerbeth's First Trip Report! With loads of pics from AKL and past trips!!!

I was just at the Yorkdale Disney store yesterday and only saw a couple costumes. Some princess ones and a prince caspian one. They didn't seem to be getting ready for halloween although their swimsuits were all gone. Tons of camp rock stuff though. Guess DD2 isn't really into that.

No they didn't have anything. :( But they did have backpacks and lunchbags on sale and DS6 got one of each for school which was great b/c he got something from the Disney Store that I would have had to buy him anyway and they were pretty well priced. And a nice lime green tinkerbell tshirt for tinkerbeth. :woohoo:

We are now officially on a spending embargo until our trip! Will post some pics of DS6 tomorrow from today. We went to a baseball game, his first, and he got to go down and run the bases afterwards! And the BlueJays won which was great cause it's root, root, root for the home team!

A friend of mine got us a room at the skydome hotel for Monday night to watch the Jays game. Never seen a game from the hotel rooms before.

Well there hasn't been too much to report lately as I have just been WAITING for it to be time to go... ;) but today I went across the border again and got the CUTEST little outfits for ds2 at Kohls. They're actually little princess pyjama sets but she is going to wear them as little short sets when we're at WDW. And the glowsticks from the Dollar Tree...thanks to the Disboards for letting me know about those!

Also yesterday on the adr thread, someone gave me their ressie for Ohana which is awesome :thumbsup2 and I made a lunch ressie for the Garden Grill...the only one I'd still really like to get is California Grill but if I don't get it I won't be heart-broken.

We're all getting very excited...11 days to go! :) Thanks for following along! I should make up a to-do list of things I have to do before we can go and things I still need so I get you all to have a look at it for me.

I'm off to watch Coronation Street before bed...anyone else obsessed with that? it's a sickness; what can I do. :rotfl2:

Okay so we are down to the wire here. I haven't been posting hardly at all but now I'm wondering how I'm ever going to get everything done so maybe this will motivate me!!!

Here is the list of things I have to do...PUH-LEASE tell me what I'm missing.

Pack. (duh) - must pack for me, ds6 (who has today declared that he doesn't want to go... more about that later), dd2, and dh34. If I don't pack for him, he'll forget underwear or something and wear mine. Seriously. Great guy but not what you'd call good with the organization. Luckily he has the ultimate planner for a wife.

Packing...we're there for 8 nights so I'm thinking 10 outfits each for the kids should be okay. I'll do one wash half way. Is that too many or too few?

Also need to:

*find that squirty fan bottle we bought years ago if it's still around
*make a first aid kit to bring
*check if i have enough diapers...
*pack ponchos (read: FIND ponchos)
*buy moleskin - (Amy, did you have that with you? Did it help with blisters?)
*write down all the addresses in passporter for postcards
*paste copy of fireworks and parade times into passporter (I told you I was nuts with the planning)
*get mini flashlight for dark rides for kids
*tidy up the house...:rolleyes1
*get that puck thing for the fish tank so the fish won't die
*give my brother a key so he can empty my dehumidifer
*go to the bank and buy American money! Thank goodness the exchange rate is so good. The first time we went we were paying over $1.30 Canadian for each American dollar. Right now it's about even.

What am I forgetting?

DS6 has now decided that he doesn't want to go. I know this is a huge argument-spawner on these boards and i'm not looking for an argument, believe me. I have enough of those with ds6 on a daily basis. He is what we call our "Spirited" child...I prefer that to "strong-willed" or "difficult" but he is those things as well.

He is nervous about going back to school and he's so sensitive...last night he saw on the news (which we never watch but apparently he turned off the Backyardigans DVD and between that and supper saw a news preview somehow) that a family's house had burnt down and at bedtime, he was so upset that he threw up! Finally we talked about it and prayed for the family and he was okay to go to sleep but that gives you an idea of how intense he is. I'm very proud of him because he is so kind hearted but the intesity of his emotions is very draining. The problem is that he's a carbon copy of me so when we lock horns it's a nightmare.

Anyways, there's no question of him not going. He is GOING. I think he's saying he's not going because he thinks he's been bad and he's punishing himself. :scared: :scared: :scared:

So that is where we are at. Today I'm going to take him out and buy him his gym shoes for school and some pencil crayons and a pencil case and we'll have some bonding time at starbucks or something and read a book together...someone tell me I'm not the world's worst mother! I live in fear of Dr. Phil smuggling a camera into my house and telling the world that I'm "a horrible human being" (said in Dr. Phil voice.) Partly kidding. But only partly.:rolleyes1

Anyways FOUR MORE DAYS!!!

Beth :hippie:

Sounds like you are a great mother! Why does he not want to go? Sounds like a little Mom/Son story-time and chat will be just the ticket!

I'd say you are ready!! I can't think of a thing you've forgotten to pack. I wish I'd thought of a first-aid kit. We didn't have anything for blisters with us. We went to Walmart for bandaids. I thought Madison needed an Ace bandage for her feet, but Lance talked me into getting those really good bandaids. However, they wouldn't stay on with all the walking. :(

I'm sorry your baby is having his doubts right now, but I'm sure it'll all work out and he'll be thrilled when the time comes!!

I'm going to try to whip out an update later just for you!

Thanks for the votes of confidence! :) He is a bit better. My friend who is an analyst thinks that he is overwhelmed with the trip coming up and I have hyped it up quite a bit. She's reccommending I downplay it a bit for the next few days and I'm taking him to talk to her tomorrow.

Right now he's rough-housing with his father and sister and hopefully getting tired out so he'll go to SLEEP tonight! There's this guy who lives here who I think I might have married a few years ago but I haven't sat down with him in what seems like forever so tonight we're going to watch Labrynth because I'm going to use it in my Grade 11 English course. :teacher: How romantic! :scared: :headache:

DH took the CUTEST pic of ds2 sitting on her potty reading hte disney guide book the other day on his phone. I'm going to post it if i can figure out how to get it off the phone and onto the computer... :rolleyes1

3DAYS!!! Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and then we are GONE! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Beth

I'm joining in...can't wait to read the rest of your report.

Sending your son some Disney pixie dust. pixiedust: We are planning a trip around this time next year for my 40th birthday. It will be an early celebration because of DS school schedule.

I wish you the best trip ever!!! Have a wonderful time, and I'll be praying for your safety!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
