After a 17 hour drive to WDW (7:30 PM to 12:15) we checked into the YC. We were supposed to arrive the day before, but my panic prevented me from leaving! It worked out well though because the kids were able to participate in their Halloween parade/parties. Our room was available upon check-in. The YC is a beautiful resort. We really enjoy the decor. We were in room 1088, first floor, pool view. My DH loved this resort, he enjoyed being able to walk to the Boardwalk and Epcot.

We quickly changed into our swimsuits and went to find Storm-A-Long Bay. WE LOVED the sand bottom!! DH and DD loved the slide, but DS (5) was too afraid to try it. Me too! We grabbed a quick bite at Hannahs Hurricane. We purchased 1 grilled chicken sandwich which was cajun flavored with lettuce, tomato on a whole wheat bun DH and I split this and a footlong hot dog which the kids split. We went back to our room to take a nap.

At 6PM the kids were still napping and we did not want to wake them to make our 6:30 PS at Yachtmans Steakhouse. So... we called them and asked if we could pick up our order, they said sure!! The kids had grilled chicken, corn on the cob, chicken fingers and fries. DH got a 24 oz Oak Fire grilled Porterhouse and we both got Lobster Bisque (I still was not feeling well) The bill came to $110 and included a 18% gratuity. YUMM!! Everything was really good.

After dinner we walked to the boat dock near the lighthouse and watched Illuminations. WOW, DH did not want to leave! We walked around the boardwalk and bought a pen and autograph book. DD and DS played a few games and DD won a stuffed dog, this made her night!. We then continued on to the beach to play in the sand and enjoy the views. We eventually made our way back to the YC, where we stopped at the bar to pick me up a Kahula and Cream and DH a Jack and Coke and the kids 2 chocolate milks. We went to bed early after enjoying our refreshments to get ready for our big Halloween Day at WDW!!!

First day sounds great, after that drive I would have sleep for two days. Glad you are off to a great start can't wait to read more...

Can't wait for part 2.....

(BTW ~ I'm STILL baffled as to how you made it in 17 hours!! We'll be driving down to WDW in Feb from No. NJ area [Bergen County] and don't think we can do it in less than 18 hrs!)
