I got a text message from njziggy today, she dropped the stroller off at luggage services because my parents weren't at the hotel yet. She did mention something was not working right on the stroller, which will be a shame seeing as though she's only 3 swappers in I believe. But, it's hard to know with the limited characters in a text message.

Maddi, she's going to PM you when she gets home.

I'll fly out of Providence tomorrow night and be at POR on Saturday morning to pick it up. My parents are going to try to get it but I'm not sure if they will release it to my mom because it's under my name and ressie which don't start until Sat.

Yes, as long as you know the name of the person it was left for you can pick it up.

NOW on to the shocking news....Did she say WHAT was wrong with it? I swear if there is an issue with this stroller...I am contacting Amazon because it's not even a month old (UNLESS it is from miss use) Did she say if it was picked up that way. OMG...I just get 3 strollers up to par and now my newest one is having issues.

Sweetie...call me as soon as you have any information so I know how to proceed. Please please pay it is a very minor issue.

When luggaqge services dropped it off to my room I noticed that the top portion of the back rest was floppy. At first thought I had not adjusted the backrest properly but, then realized that it was snapped just above the second strap insert on the backrest. The stroller is still usable and was such a help but, if you have a taller child they will not be able to lean their head back on the backrest. I also had to clean the stroller because it was very sticky- don't know if it was soda or juice. I couldn't believe that I was only the 3rd swapper & got the stroller like that. On a positive note, the rain cover worked like a charm- we had torrential rain & hail one day!

Ok....what do we want to do. I'm so upset because the swapper before njziggy was a last night fill-in and this is the respect shown to the swap.

I won't be able to use the stroller. My DD is a taller child. I don't know if I can order a new one but I am going to try. But first I need to get the numbers off the stroller.

Micheal's mom...if you read this, there is a sticker on the metal frame with a model number on it. I need this so I can call instep.
 
Ok...while I am in upset mode...I need everyone to completely understand a couple things.

Please use the stroller as if it is your very own personal stroller. The one you use at home. If lil Johnny eats and drinks in the stroller, please clean it before handing it over to the next swapper. In all honesty, I would prefer that you only give your lil ones water or non sticky items like french fries, popcorn, etc than mickey bars or soda while they are in the stroller. Sadly, those sticky items can ruin a stroller for all the swappers after you.

When lil Johnny is getting in and out of the stroller. Please pick him up and put him in. Stepping on the seat, the backrest, etc will damage the stroller...as we have just witnessed. Use care with the stroller so the swappers after you will have a nice sound/safe stroller to use for their lil ones when they get to WDW.

Please use the stroller as if you just purchased it for home use. Take Pride in the stroller and remember there are many swappers after you depending on the stroller just as much as you were.

hahaha...you know me, I won't give up...I'll get the part to fix it one way or another.

But I will need a volunteer to recieve the part (backboard) and install it when the time comes.

as soon as I hear back from Michaels mom, I'm all over this!
 
ok...here's the scoop. I found the model number on my invoices from when I purchased the stroller.

I called INSTEP and ordered a new seat, as just the backboard can not be replaced since it is a sealed one piece unit. It will be here by the end of next week and I will immediately ship it to WDW but I do need someone to accept the package and put the new seat on. It requires a phillips screwdriver, as you will have to take off about a dozen screws to remove the old seat.

Any Volunteers????
 
I still have 3 swappers ahead of me and a little over 3 weeks to go, but if the others are unable to do it, my dh will replace the seat.
 
That's terrible that something had to happen to the stroller already. Thankfully it can be repaired easily, but think it's crap that Maddi has to pay for the replacement part when it wasn't even her fault.

Plus I don't see how someone can misuse a stroller when it's not even theirs and leave it in the condition that it was for the next swapper, YUCK!!! :sad2:
 
I am sooo glad to hear you were able to get a replacement backrest. I felt terrible when I saw the stroller & thought about everyone that still was planning to use it.
 
I couldn't get just the backrest...I had to order the ENTIRE seat which is everything but the basket underneath and the shade. CRAZY, huh?

But hey, atleast we will have a good stroller when all of us get there.:thumbsup2

I'm counting on the two that haven't paid to cover the seat. And if we can fill in the open dates, that will cover overnighting it to Jesse.

Let's just cross our fingers it gets here the first part of next week so I can over night it to WDW in time for the next swapper. I feel horrible that Michael's mom has it right now and it's damaged. She's been so awesome in helping me organize this..bumping, letting incoming swappers know I will be with them as soon as I get home, etc. And she gets a messed up stroller.

BUMMER!

Thanks for the gracious offer...let's hope this comes off without a hitch and nothing else happens to the stroller.
 
Thanks for taking care of everything! We're (ndfi78 is my DH) scheduled to go in 2 weeks and can replace the stroller seat if we need. Just let us know so we can take the appropriate tools.
 
Wow that is awful that someone would leave it in such condition and not say anything about it. I hope everything gets resolved and everyone else respects the fact that someone else still has to use the stroller.
