Hiya! I'm planning on hiding presents from Tinkerbell in our room every night after our girls go to bed for them to find. We'll be gone 9 days & I need to have them all purchased & wrapped before we go & I need them to be small as I'll be packing them. I have a 6 month old so I'll have a lot of other stuff to pack.

The two girls are 5 & 6. They love games, learning, reading, art projects, etc. Any ideas for cheap, mostly flat or smallish gifts with a Disney theme I can buy at Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, or on-line?

So far I have Princess UNO cards, the Mickey & Minnie light up pens, and stamp kits. I have 2 months to buy stuff, but I need 6 more gifts!

TIA

I did this for my DD last trip and she LOVED it! She told Wendy all about the gifts that Tinkerbell was leaving in our room, and Wendy played along. :goodvibes

Here are some things Tink left of our last trip to give you some ideas :) Although I cannot remember them all. I think everything but the toothbrushes were $1.50 or less. Most from Walmart and the Target $1 spot. I took some real fine glitter and sprinkled it around the gifts and then took my eyeshadow brush and made footprints in the glitter. To this day any time anything sparkles my DD yells "Tink was here, Tink was here!". LOL

Princess Toothbrushes - on first night
Peter Pan coloring book - last night for trip home
princess nail decorating kit
Sleeping Beauty Magnetic paper doll set
Glitter star shaped bathtub confetti

I am already stocking up for next trip. Last week I got a lot of little things at The Disney Store for $0.99 a piece. They are packed away but here is what I remember.... Stickers, magic towels, felt cards that you color with markers sets, Mickey head shaped lollypops....That's all I can remember.

Michael's Craft store has a $1 section and they have a bunch of Tinkerbell things there right now. They have small craft kits, one was a necklace and I can't recall the others, pencils, notebooks, notepads, stickers. Perfect for TInk gifts. :thumbsup2

Happy shopping :)

I did the exact same thing last September and my boys loved it! I tried to give them gifts that would coordinate with parks we would visit that day. Binoculars and small plastic dinosaur skeletons for Animal Kingdom, stuffed Crush and Bruce for Epcot, Chicken Little character figures, stuffed Chip and Dale beanies for MGM, Mickey sunglasses and baseball hats for MK, etc. Definitely load up at Disney Store clearance time (now)! I'm already stocked for our trip in Sept '08. Also, our Tinkerbell brought nighttime surprises too, like light spinners, light up message fans, etc that they could use at the parades and fireworks. Much cheaper to buy them at home on clearance ($4) than at DW for $20 each. I think I'll look into some glow necklaces at the party store too. Before my husband and I had children, we always remember going to Disney and seeing children display their little trinkets and gifts on their windowsills of their resort rooms. We encouraged our children to do that with their Tink gifts too. It was so neat how their window display got bigger every day, and it made it easy for the kids to find their resort room because they would just look for their toys in the window! It's hard to leave the parks at night, but it's easier to come back when it's fun to look for your special window!!! Good luck! I'm sure anything Tink leaves for your children will be appreciated!

I did a variety of things. We bought DD a cinderella dress, and gave her that the morning of her lunch in the castle. She also got a pair of new princess pj's. I bought some of the mini coloring book & crayons are the disney store. I left a note from Tinkerbell with each gift. On the last night I left a sticker book for the trip home.

I'm doing the same thing when we go in September and the Disney Store is having a great sale. I got Cinderella straw cups for $2.39, Princess Light Chasers for $4.79, Disney pens for $0.99 and Princess t-shirts for $4.99.

I did that as well for my dd last year on our trip. they loved it. I found princess pez dispenser, stickers ,pens ,crayons , candies etc. I left a little saying/clue/riddle with each gift that just had something to do with the activities for that day. It was fun and they still talk about it.

I did this for DD (4) this past May. However, Tinkerbell left her Disney jibbitz all week for her crocs. She got so excited every morning to see what she got. She would grab them and turn away from us so only she could see it first. Tinkerbell left pixie dust (glitter) and a note each morning. The note was on Disney letterhead and it would give us our itinerary for the day and remind her about eating good, being a good girl, no crying in Disneyworld, etc. It also said if she was good all week, maybe Cinderella would invite her to have lunch in the castle. Which we did our last day. Just an idea about the note so they know Tinkerbell has planned the parks you are going to in case they want to go to MK everyday and you do not :)

We do this a little different. Tinkerbell comes to our house the night before we leave. This means that we wake up to Tink gifts (a la Santa) and DD then knows today is Disney vaca day! Tink leaves a bucket of gifts and a trail of pixiedust from the window to the presents. We include things to use on the plane (ie Disney crayons and coloring books) plus things to use at Disney. A big crowd pleaser is the light up necklaces, bracelets, etc., plus they save mommy and daddy a lot of cash not having to buy them at Disney.

Thanks! I LOVE, love, LOVE to glitter idea with tiny Tink footprints. Totally hadn't thought of that one. I also like the idea of the light up stuff. I also wnt to buy the water/fan spritzers if I can find them. Unfortunately there is no Disney Store near me & since school is out I would have to drive to one which would mean my kids would be with me. Seeing as they are older, there is no way I could sneak past them what I was buying. BUMMER!

I also love the toothbrush idea, I'll be doing that one for sure.

Thanks, and I'll take any other advice you guys have, too.

OH, we'll be doing a lot of the water parks. Any Tink-sized water park gift ideas?

I just did this in May and found tons of Disney goodies at Dollar Tree. They had Tink notepads that I paired with the light up pens. Mickey tatoos, Princess tatoos. They also had Tink night lights. I gave her that the first day and she loved having the nightlight at the hotel. From walmart, princesses swimsuit. They will love just about anything you get them. I also secretly bought a Tinkerbell postcard while we were there and sent it home, My dd was so excited to get home and receive a postcard from Tink saying how she hoped she had liked the gifts was was so happy she came to Disney.

My dd loved getting her Tink gifts on our trip last year. I got all small type items and on the last night she got a large stuffed Minnie that I had purchased her at the DS on sale.

I like the idea of the note from Tink (especially the part about being good and no crying...LOL!). DD will be 4 this trip, so I think I will do the notes also.

You can pick up Disney stuff everywhere lately...Walmart, Target, Dollar Stores, etc. I've already started gathering items for our trip in October. I just keep my eyes open while out shopping. Have fun! I'm sure your girls will love anything they get.

We also did this in May. We gave:

An instant camera (the pictures were HILARIOUS!)
Princess Hat
Princess Water Bottle
Wand
Fanny Pack
Princess Ball

We did this last trip even though our kids were older (8 and 15). They knew it was mom but played along with the Tink theory. For arrival day/evening Tink left us all new pjs. I found them at Walmart - Pooh for me, Mickey & Tink for the girls. For dh Tink left silk boxers with a Pooh decal ironed on to them. I think he was more excited than the girls to get a Tink gift. All the other days were very small gifts. We've got several different dollar stores around here and they have some different things so I got stuff there like pens and suckers, they got Disney socks from Walmart too. I also found some cute little stuffed clip-on Disney characters I got from the Scholastic Book Fair cheap.

I tried to theme the gift to our activities for the day - Mickey pens for MK, Lion King stuff for AK, etc.

Love the glitter and eyeshadow idea too!!!

My kids LOVE the Tink gifts. It might be DD7's favorite part of the trip.

I've had off and on good luck at Big Lots and Dollar General. Dollar General had packs of princess gummy bracelets that were a big hit. My kids love bandaids and temporary tattoos. Stickers are flat and light.

We also had 9 nights our last trip and I pretty much filled a duffle bag with just Tink stuff for the two kids.

Oh, thought of more stuff... Dollar Tree had flat, very lightweight Disney frisbees in the party section. The kids also enjoyed those "magic pen" Disney books. I got them at WalMart.

Actually, I love the Tink gifts too! It's so much fun hunting for the stuff a couple months before the trip. Helps pass the time.

I usually do this for my DD too!! Some of the stuff I buy ahead of time, some of it I'll pick up while we're there! I've bought stickers, color book/colors (Dollar Tree sometimes has princess or pooh crayons), ponytail/barettes, Disney dollars, sunglasses, disposable camera (yes, they take some funny pictures - last year, we had several pictures of a squirrel in the tree, a lizard, as well as some bunnies near LeCellier). I also picked up a pair of pajamas from the gift shop one evening, and some Disney candy.

It really adds to their enjoyment and its a lot of fun! Have a great trip!!!

We did this last trip even though our kids were older (8 and 15). They knew it was mom but played along with the Tink theory.

My girls are too big for most surprises. They understand the people in the character costumes, etc. So I was very surprised when I told them about Tinkerbell that they bought it hook line & sinker. This is our first time in a resort (we've always stayed offsite) & I told them the big bonus of staying in a resort is Mickey Mouse calls every morning to wake us up & Tinerbell leaves present every night after we're asleep.

The car got very quiet as they pondered this. My eldest, always sceptical, said, "That isn't possible. Mickey Mouse is just a cartoon." So I reassured them that every morning the phone would ring & it most certainly would be Mickey (& Stitch?) on the phone so they could judge for themselves but I was NOT lying.

So the car gets really quiet again. My youngest then says, "How could Tinkerbell get in the room?" So I told them that bugs get in our house all the time & Tinkerbell isn't bigger than that. Bugs just find a way, through cracks, under the door, etc. The conversation then ended & I wasn't sure where we stood.

Well, the next day I heard them telling my sister in very animated voices & gestures that Tinkerbell leaves presents every night for the little kids and Mickey calls to say good morning.:wizard:

So, this may be a little bit of the magic that they actually buy this year, thus the reason it is SO important I go over the top & also that the presents are thin/tiny, not just because of the packing but they somehow have to be small enough to slide under the door:rotfl2:

How about Disney Dollars? Then they could buy their own treats or save them up throughout the trip to buy something bigger at a gift shop.

I also wnt to buy the water/fan spritzers if I can find them. Unfortunately there is no Disney Store near me

I think a lot of the stores will put the fans on sale after 4th of July. Just add some Disney stickers to the handle and you're all set. Mickey stickers can Disneyfi just about anything!

Trading pins & autograph books are another idea.

How does everyone note that the gifts are from Tink? Does she leave a special card or something?
