Tinkerbell movie

We watched it last night - I thought it was really well done. It gives you a lot better feel for Tinkerbelle and how she fits in to everything - and the ending is reallllllly good. I really wasn't a big Tink fan before this (she's so mean to Wendy!) but this made me like her. The kids loved the movie and even DH thought it was pretty good.

I think part of the reason it didn't come out in theater was due to the Pixar/Disney artist issues, remember when Pixar was, then wasn't, part of the Disney family? Then was again? There were some personnel issues specifically related to this movie that I heard about (my cousin is a Disney artist.) OTOH, the good news is, there's already a 2nd movie in production!

we loved it too! we just got it yesterday DD(2) has asked to watch it three times already. even when DH was walking about the house doing his own thing would stop, watch, and say "wow, these graphics are awesome..this is a really cute movie!" getting wings with the dvd sounds great! i guess each store has their own gift to give with it.. we bought ours at best buy and they gave us a pack of Tinkerbell memory game playing cards....we're going to save them for when DD is a little older

We bought ours at Best Buy and received the game also! The movie is great but I wish it was a little longer:) I wasn't ready for it to end but there are more Tinkerbell movies coming out next year:goodvibes We have watched it 4 times since Tuesday. A must buy!

I pre-ordered from our Disney store, but am saving it for x-mas. My DH keeps telling me I have to budget this x-mas cause he's not getting his bonus this year. It's gonna be a rough holiday so things the girls would normally be getting now are becoming stow-away's for x-mas. I feel so bad but I've gotta make an effort to spend less. OT, but I'm giving them things for x-mas that they need this year instead of just giving them on any random day, like new coats and boots. I'm feeling guilty about it. Anyone doing the same? Anyway, glad to hear the great Tink reviews. Hope we can hold out 8 more weeks before I bust into the christmas stash ;)

DO NOT feel quilty about that. There are years we have to do this too. The kids actually really LOVED opening their boots last Christmas and I too am saving the DVD for this Christmas. I would love to give it to her sooner but she doesn't "need" it and it will make a great gift!

Haven't bought it yet, but was tempted at Target yesterday where it was under $15. FYI--It also comes with a bracelet at Target.:lovestruc

Us too! My mother is getting the movie for my DD for her b-day (December 10) - I am soooo anxious to watch it. I cant wait!

My girls and I are so excited about this movie. They're already asking me to buy it. Lots of Disney movies on my list right now!

I picked it up today at FYE ($19.99 with a $7 mail in rebate). I'm saving it for a rainy day or long weekend when DD is blue. DH is gone until at least Thanksgiving, so I figure this'll be a good pick me up when she's having a down day!

My DD5 gave it a thumbs down, but wasn't specific about why.

She'd ordered the based-on-the-movie book in her Scholastic book order, and the book came the same day as we got the movie. And she likes the book. :confused3

We got it from Netflix on Tuesday, I couldn't wait for the mail to come. I watched it with DD and we both loved it.........she wanted to watch it again when it was over.

Looks like the movie critics are giving it really good reviews too. Some of the reviews I saw were saying it should have gone to the big screen too. That would have been great. DD, 2, has not been to her 1st full length movie yet (just a 3-D Imax which she loved), and I bet this would have been a great one for her as I'm guessing there isn't anything really sad (i.e. a death) or overly scary. Those of you who have seen it, could you let me know if you think there is anything I need to fast forward. From the reviews I have seen, I don't think there is, but DD can be really sensitive (thanks again to the Disers who told me exactly when to fast forward in Ariel's beginning). I have got to get to the store to go get it! I'm impressed by those of you who have the will power to wait to watch it. I want to see it now!

Good news - there isn't anything that you need to fast forward through.

BTW - I was one of the handful of DISers who got to see the movie on the big screen here in Los Angeles. They showed it for 3 weeks at the El Capitan (a theater Disney owns in Hollywood). It is the only movie that my 3 yr old daughter hasn't asked for a potty break in! She sat slack-jawed while eating popcorn through the whole thing! When I brought it home Tuesday, she watched it, while commenting on things that she remembered from the theater - like Cheese's name and stuff like that.

BTW - there is a really good trailer for the 2nd Tink movie on the DVD. We never usually go to that section, but I scanned through it the other night and found the trailer. I hope they actually make the costume for that 2nd movie to put on sale at TDS. It looks like a really fun Tink tomboy costume.

If y'all like this movie - definitely get the Disney Fairies novels/books. They are so worth it. I miss those characters, but the time frame for this story takes place well before that of the books. You'll understand Vidia so much more, as she is the only solid book character (besides Queen Clarion) that made it into the movie!
