Ok, if I promise not to run anyone over trying to see this done, can someone please explain exactly what this is?? Not too sure i understand the whole "wake tink up and she flys around the room"?

Jennifer

The first family that asks each day at Tinker Bell's Treasures get to wake Tink up.

But what does that mean? Can you describe it in detail? Is it a drawer in a desk? Does a character pop out? Do you hit it with a wand and say words? Does a ball of light rise out of a drawer, spell out your name in the air and then shoot around the room like a demented fire fly? Inquiring minds want to know.

The Tink Run is the chaos that unfolds when the ropes drop and everyone runs like crazed water buffalo towards the shop.

I agree. I'd like to know too. Hopefully someone will come along and explain all of the details soon!!

What exactly are they all running to???? How do you get to wake her up?

I asked this question o another thread and didn't receive a reply. Maybe those who know are afraid we'll all start running too. :rotfl: I said in my other post that I have boys who would have not interest in it. I promise we'll never take part in the Tink wake up. I just want to hear more about it.

Nope,

Its because...

ITS

NO

BIG

DEAL.

(That's why its so crazy that folks "smash and grab" to get there to do it.)

If you just stop by the shop any time later in the day, you can "find" Tink flitting around the shop, or sleeping in her dresser drawer.
It is CUTE, but considering how much major other FUN there is to be had in the MK in general, again, (I can't stress this enough)

ITS

NO

BIG

DEAL

to Wake Up Tink.

If you happen to get to do it, its "nice".

But even character "meet and greets" have more impact on the little ones.
Being picked to help "open the park", be parade "grand marshalls", even riding in the cab of the monorail are more "special" than the Tink Awakening.

So relax, enjoy, see Tink in the shop at your leisure but don't sweat the first-thing-gotta-see-it/do-it mob, because the wake-up is...
(all together now)

NO

BIG

DEAL

To answer the OP, the "Tink run" is a term that has been coined in reference to the actions of those guests wanting to wake up Tinkerbell.

Now for the reason the "Tink run" exsists. The first family (person) to arrive at Tinkerbell's Treasures is given the oppurtunity to "wake" up Tinkerbell. Now the family (person) needs to aske a CM if Tinkerbell has been woke for the day. If she hasn't then they allow a member of your party to wear a tiara and hold a wand. This person then taps on the box that Tinkerbell "sleeps" in and then they do a little spiel and the person taps on the box. After the box is tapped on, this wakes Tinkerbell up and she begins to "fly" around the room (this is done with the use of sounds and fiber optics.) Sometimes they allow more than one person from several families to participate.

My DD was able to do this back in 2002 and she was given a "Special Moments" certificate and a pencil and a few stickers. Not sure if they still have the freebies.

Hopefully this answers the OP's question.

Doesn't this sound like the BEST THING EVER?

(altogether now...)

But to my 4 year old....it was the best thing since sliced bread! LOL

She was one of the lucky ones July of last year. She loved the whole experience...the run, the "banging" on the box (tinkerbell could have been in acoma that day!), and the freebies.

I thought it was a great way to start her first day at the Magic Kingdon.

OK, we did this In Oct, and we had the CRT 8am breakfast, we were at the castle at rope drop with 30 or so other people, the rope drops, 2 dads run with their kids, one dad picks up his dd and shoves her in front of the other kid and that dad... and there were at least 7 other witnesses (included our family) to this jaw dropping spectacle... and the dad that shoved his kid in the CM's face got the honor of being "first" the other dad kept calmly saying "I cant believe you are rewarding that behavior" and the CM kept calmly saying over and over "everyone that is in the store right now will get a turn to wake up Tink and get a special certificate..."

Now my 9yr dd kept saying, that is weird!! She loves looking in the dresser where Tink "Lands" , and she noticed that none of the other kids were even noticing that Tink flies around the store - she said they missed the best part!!

When everyone had their turn, the CM came to dd and said, you want your turn, dd shrugged, and the CM took her over, and she got her certificate, the CM said that she appreciated dd patience, as well as ours, by this time there was just one other mom and dd in the store!!

So basically I agree, its no big deal, or worse, ADULTS have made it a BIG deal!

DD peering into the chest of drawers Tink lands in after flitting and flying around the store!!

knocking on the drawer to wake tink up is probably a little bit ahead of my 2 yr old, but she would LOVE to watch her fly around the room and to look in the keyhole to see her in the drawer!! So while we won't be rushing to DO the waking up, it would probably be neat to see!

Thanks for the info!!

I'm not a kid and I certainly wasn't going to participate in any kind of Tink Run! :rotfl:

But I had heard about this and wanted to just SEE Tink in her little drawer...but when I went and asked about it at Tink's Treasures...the CM's acted like they didn't have a clue what I was talking about! :confused3 After some discussion between them, they finally suggested I might be able to see Tink in the drawer...so I looked...and....

NOTHING!!! :guilty:

Guess no pixie dust for me!! ;)

I went in there and looked in the same keyhole that eeyore45's DD is peeping into and.....NOTHING!!! Maybe only children can see her or maybe she was already asleep when I went. But I believe in fairies, I DO BELIEIVE!! :wizard:

if you watch around the perimeter of the room you see a trail of little lights lighting up which is supposed to be Tink, eventually she gets to the drawer. it's cute but more like for an after thought, just like all the themeing in the mk shops

Now i'm all excited and just want to see the shop!!

So in October, we had a ressies for CRT, we watched the Opening of the park, strolled in, told CRT we were there and then walked over to Tink's shop. We asked if Tink had woke up yet, she smiled and said Grace could do it again. Grace wore the crown and got the wand, sttod up there and tapped the box and The lights swirled. No certificate, but she did not expect one. Grace is 6, was thrilled and had fun with no crowd!

As for the drawer, you have to be sooooooo patient, when tink "the lights" fly around the light int he drawer lights quickly! Watch carefully.
