OK, I've pre-purchased all my dd's Disney gifts and am ready for setting up Tink's Present. Should I make one big gift basket for the day we arrive...or should I give her one thing every morning when she wakes up? Which do you think would be more magical?

Tink is also bringing a few travel things for her the morning we leave...like a Disney storybook Little Einstieins Water Wow pad, and a Disney DVD movie.

I think I'm more excited than anyone. I've been planning for SO long and it's finally almost here    :dance3:

The time I did this, I did it every night/morning instead of all at once. It gave the little one an incentive to jump up out of bed and get going, which helped because he was really tired every morning.

I wrote notes out ahead of time with a green glitter pen. It really turned out to be fun for everyone. Good luck with it!

When DD was 6 y.o. we let her purchase a tink locket one day. She LOVES tink! She kept telling us that Tink was super tiny ...like a bug. We went into the tink store behind the castle and DD asked if tink ever signed autographs...the CM tells DD that "Tink is too tiny to hold a pen" and she had "never seen her sign one". DD is now completely excited telling us I KNEW IT!!! I KNEW SHE WAS TINY!!!. For the rest of that day if DD saw a flash of light out of the corner of her eye she would swear it was tink...She even ran around and tried to catch tink in her locket...she looked so cute running around opening and closing her locket into the air.

Now the good part......Well I had packed, some ultra fine glitter just in case the tooth fairy came while we were at Disney( she dusts the $$$ at our house). That night I took the locket and filled it with the glitter. The next morning DD wakes up and puts on the locket...15 minutes later she opens it and glitter scatters everywhere.....She is jumping up and down yelling that she did indeed capture tink last night! She just knew Tink had been in her locket! She told everyone that would listen the TInk had spent the night IN HER LOCKET!!!

2 years later she still believes Tink was in her locket!

This is one of my favorite memories of that trip!

So cute!

We're trying to decide on how we want to do the Tink gifts too....one big gift basket or little gifts every night and we're leaning towards the little gifts every night. Of course, I need to hurry up and decide....we leave in 4 days!

Our first trip was back in May. We did Tink gifts every night / morning. I had the notes printed out and rolled up with a ribbon tie. I put the note, some glitter, and the gift by DD's nightstand. I ended up leaving 2 jibbitz every night for her crocs that I bought on ebay. The note would say what our agenda was for the day, to be a good girl, eat all your fruits & veggies, no crying in Disneyworld, etc...........

I think the agenda worked and got her excited about what the day would hold. She never whined about wanting to go to MK everyday or swimming, etc.

DD would say she didn't even hear Tinkerbell come to her room! She would tell everyone on the bus about what Tinkerbell left her.

Have fun!

Great idea!!! I have bought/pre-arranged Welcome baskets for DD12 and DS2 to arrive the first day we are there!
I am also doing small presents each night we are there, for both of them! I am working out the purchases right now! This is such a fun thing to do at Disney! I think dividing them up, like you said, and giving her one per morning is a great idea!

I think presents from Tink each morning is a great idea! :) That brings me to another question though... Does anyone know if there are rules about wrapped gifts inside luggage? I'm guess since everything is X-rayed, they'd be able to see the harmless shirt/necklace/whatever. But I'd hate to open my luggage and find that security had unwrapped everything!:scared1:

Has anyone flown with wrapped packages? I guess I could just bring some gift bags and assemble them at the hotel... And are there any rules about glow necklaces in checked luggage? :confused3

ooooooo...GREAT question about the glow sticks!! Can't wait hear the answer.

We just flew in midAugust and didn't have a problem with the glow sticks in the checked luggage. I also did the tink gifts for every morning. I wrapped all of them the first night we were down there after she went to sleep. I didn't want to risk the wrapped presents going missing in the checked luggage, and knew I couldn't carry on the wrapped presents.

Thanks for the answer to my glow stick question! :thumbsup2 And it's probably a smart idea to carry the unwrapped gifts (or at least a few of them!) in my carry-on bag. Thanks for the help!

I LOVE this idea! I try not to commit many crimes, but I am definitely stealing this idea from you! ;)

Make sure you pack the glow sticks good! Ours were all cracked when we took them out of our luggage :sad2:

I thought I had read all the magical ideas that I could use for our trip in November but I hadn't read about this one until today. What a great idea!!! My DD is 2 1/2 and I don't know when we will get to go back so I am going to HAVE to do this for this trip! I can't wait! (We need one thread that lists all the magical extras you could do on your WDW trips!)

I left something small every night. In the morning when we left I would always "forget" something in the room and go bring out the gifts. My son decided that they were from Mickey and even left him a thank you note.

Our four children, ages 10, 9, 7, and 5, still haven't figured out how Mickey would sneak into the room.

They would also stampede us at the door to be sure they would find it first.

I would go with something small every night. It gives them something to look forward to............
