Tink Got Me My Very Own Sharpies!- A Surprise Bday TR (3/8 Final Thoughts)

I'm dying to see this evenings outfit. You can only catch a glimpse of it in your pics. We've never done the 1900 park fare for dinner before. I've got it booked for our next trip (which is not in a DVC you lucky ducky). How great is it that Randy is pushing you to move beyond POP. It's usually the other way in my house.

We have done the Seaworld thing and I know you will enjoy it. We only spent one day there and it really wasn't enough. My favorite thing there was the lunch I booked before a show. The kids got to see the whales close up, the food was great, it wasn't air conditioned but it was tented with lots of fans and my Dh's favorite part was that the beer was included. It works a bit like the fantastic dinner package so we had seats saved for us. They let us all take a drink with us into the show too. We got to try a bunch of different beers we hadn't had before. I highly suggest it. They do it at lunch and dinner.

Oh 1900 PF is my favorite CM. The food is good but the entertainment is hilarious!!!!

Yes, Randy is in the "I work hard all year, I deserve a nice hotel" camp. Me...not so much. Not that I don't love nice hotels. But the deluxe hotels at WDW would not be considered "deluxe" anywhere else in the world! Nice but for what those rooms go for...you are paying for the experience (like a lot of things at WDW)

I remember you TR about Sw. I wonder if they still have beer now that they were sold? I know they don't give the free beer in the parks anymore. I don't drink beer so it means nothing to me but Randy would enjoy a free beer ;)

Love the 1900PF pics! That was the very first thing that I sewed for Aisling. Can't wait to see what comes next (obvs, I know what it is, I just want to see pics and not spoil the surprise).

Yes it was...and sadly it will not be able to make it to a 3rd trip. Well actually the skirt could but as you can see, the top just barely made decency standards this time around :rotfl2: By the way, she would like to talk to you about some ideas she has for May :lmao:

I was just looking over hawaiian fabrics today for their ohana outfits. I TOLD you she needed more than we were planning! Tell her to give me a call anytime, I'll take care of it.

you should HEAR the crap she is coming up with. I then reminded her of the outfits she already owns and she agreed to wear the old stuff! Specifically she HAS to wear her dessert skirt to MK. She didn't get to "wear it long enough"

That's right folks, we are going to SWW AND we are renting DVC points :banana::banana:

Woo Hoo! :woohoo: Can't wait to read all about it!

So Randy ran. And he scaled some bushes. And he got the stroller.

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

The character interaction you got at 1900 PF was awesome! So sweet!

With everything ready to roll, we headed off to MK to finish up our birthday plans. Any guesses what we might do????

Has anyone guessed the Wishes Dessert Buffet?

DING DING DING....the woman has gotten it....we were heading to the WISHES Dessert Party!!!

The plan was originally to get a cake at 1900 PF but when the extended the WISHES dessert party I called THAT DAY to make sure we got ressies. Who wants a cake when you can have multiple desserts?!?!

186.jpg

We headed over to get our wrist bands and the line was already insane. (it was about 1/2 hour before you got let in). PSA for the Dessert Party...you have assigned seats so you don't need to stand in line forever. It's not going to matter.

I got some shots of the dessert party outfit while we waited

187.jpg

188.jpg

Finally they let us in and we ended up having a FAB seat

189.jpg

Truth be told, I don't think that there are bad seats at this event but it did bring up my gripe. It was a sold out event so there were a lot of people

208.jpg

However, nobody stayed in their seats. If it could have been a calm "let's stay in our seats- watch the fireworks- and get dessert" thing than I would have enjoyed this event a lot more. But instead, it was a giant free-for-all. I noticed the people were starting to hold spots at the rails with strollers and tripods...

205.jpg

So of course I followed suit and put my tripod up

214.jpg

While Randy and Aisling went to get their treats, I tried to take some pics. I quickly realized that my macro lens was NOT going to cut it for this event. We were just too far away to get any decent fireworks shots. Made me sad all over about my dropped lens that would have been perfect :sad2:

217.jpg

Finally it was my turn to go get goodies. Aisling got out glow sticks and passed them out to kids around us

216.jpg

234.jpg

Yup, that's it for the ellusive WISHES buffet. Not too exciting. It was yummy, don't get me wrong but it just didn't thrill me as much as I thought it would

I also had to shove my food down my throat because it was almost time for the fireworks to start. People were heading to the railings in droves so I figured I better go stand with my tripod.

238.jpg

Tink flew and the fireworks started and MORE people crowded up to the railings. Now it was getting crazy. I took down my tripod and made it a mono-pod because people kept hitting it from the sides. Unfortunately, with all the pushing and shoving, I couldn't get my camera steady. Plus, it was the rental lens on the camera at this point and I was terrified of it getting knocked over. So I gave up. I headed back to my seat and figured I could take some pics of Randy and Aisling WATCHING Wishes.

We also had our PP pics taken during the event

I was laughing because I tripped over the photographer's tripod and stubbed my toe. I was trying to laugh because it killed!!!

WISHES wrapped up and we gave Aisling the choice of what to do next. She had been up since 6am. It was now 9:30ish. The park was open until 11pm. Choices Choices!

:banana:Thanks Jen! Do you think Jordan will like Universal? I'm trying to figure out when would be a good age to start splitting the time??? You'll have to let me know about the planning!

I've been really torn on when to start Universal/IOA - part of me wanted to do it when she was young enough to still really enjoy Seuss Landing and part of me thought a lot of the rides seemed older/scary. But then I read Pamela's TR (pacrosby) and she made it sound so great plus told me that they do a Grinch show in December and a miniature Macy's parade and that sealed the deal. It really does seem like you only need a few days there so I can fit in lots of WDW too. Now when and where to fit in Sea World is a whole other issue.

I should also mention that my partner-in-Disney-crime Stacy and her boys are coming AND of course M will be around to play with Aisling too. I'm really excited!!!

Stacy and the boys and M and her family!:woohoo::banana::cool1: That is so awesome!

She actually came up with a suggestion later on that she be allowed to change MID-meal next time so that everyone would be happy ;) :rotfl: I've created a monster!!!

Yes you have but a very adorable monster!

ya, SW is definitely NOT my thing. But Randy and Aisling totally bond over it. Me, I'll hang with the mommies!

:scared1: That is my shocked face. We have so much in common that I thought for sure you would be a Star Wars fan too. Oh well - I guess you can't be perfect. ;)

Great update! Love the outfit! Bummer about the lens issue. I wondered about the dessert party - that stinks that everybody crowded the rail. I am surprised the CM's didn't do anything. Can't wait to read what Ash decided to do next and I can't believe she hasn't passed out yet!

:thumbsup2Sounds like a wonderful Birthday so far. Those desserts look so yummy.
We had our picture taken over there during the Halloween Party and it is very dark there. Sorry you tripped on the tripod...

So what are you going to do next?

That's too bad about people bumping your tripod. Why do they feel the need to push and shove? :confused3

The photopass pics turned out great!

Thanks all around!!! Yup, I'm never even SEEN Star Wars.:scared1: Well I'm sure I saw it when it came out but I don't remember it. I'm not really into space movies at all.

Sounds like a good plan for Universal. Harry Potter will be open by then too!

Thank you! Rudeness really always rears it's ugly head in WDW doesn't it?!?!

Before I go any further, the missing pics from the last installment have been added

Back to where we were. Do you think that this Birthday Girl was ready to go to bed???? No way!!! She wanted to live it up at the MK. And she was being so good...we let her!

First up this birthday girl wanted to cool off! I don't know if I mentioned before, it was way hotter than we had anticipated. The week before we went, Orlando had a cool spell so I had gone out an bought shirts and leggings to go under all Ash's outfits...needless to say, we didn't need them

Along the way, I took some scenery shots

283.jpg

291.jpg

Next Up..Splash Mountain!

Per usual late night at Disney, they let us stay on a bunch of time so we rode it a few times in a row

301.jpg

308.jpg

When we had Zippity Doo Dah'd enough, we headed back over to Tomorrowland.

The 2nd showing of Spectro was going on so I stopped and tried to get some pics. Again, with the macro lens, it was a little tough but I did what I could

325.jpg

326.jpg

328.jpg

329.jpg

330.jpg

Next up....

335.jpg

337.jpg

We headed straight to Buzz which was a walk-on at this point so we got a couple of rides in on that too

349.jpg

(spooky pic!)

354.jpg

363.jpg

362.jpg

At this point it was only a couple of minutes until 11pm. And the birthday girl had one final request

364.jpg

Guess where we are????

yup- COP.

366.jpg

It was late by the time we got done with that since it's a longer attraction. Amazingly, we all stayed awake for it! When we turned the corner to Main St, I figured it was be empty! NOPE!!!

368.jpg

We decided to put Aisling in her stroller and battle through the crowd. Immediately after we got through the gates this is what we saw?

372.jpg

And she stayed like that all the way back to POP

373.jpg

The Birthday Girl had finally worn herself out! But what fun would we have in store for tomorrow...and would I let everyone sleep in for a change :rolleyes1

Love the outfit!

I kept trying to get into the wishes buffet when I went to MNSSHP but they didn't have it that night. So I got shoved and pushed in the crowd with the rest of them. :sad2:

I think I was there for the cold spell. I would have tried to squeeze myself into those leggings I was so cold.

It's for the best that you didn't get into the Dessert Party. Your DH would have blown a fuse for what you got for $50 plus ;) :rotfl2:

I know it wasn't the lens you wanted to use for all the pictures but they are simply gorgeous. You take such beautiful photos.

I love Aisling's outfit, very pretty. Perfect for the evening festivities.

I would not have been happy about the standing free for all at the Dessert party. I hate stuff like that, you are always on the go at Disney, can't people just sit and relax?

Thanks LL :flower3:

The orange castle one is actually blown up and framaed in my dining room now.

Ya, we probably won't repeat the Wishes Dessert Party again. It wasn't my favorite thing. I was excited to sit down and watch Wishes while sipping tea and eating chocolate and that didn't work out :sad2:
