Timon Parking Lot (behind DCA) weekends only?

Don't know if anyone can answer this or not:

I have heard that the parking lot behind DCA is only used on weekends, but is this true in the summer as well?

I'm considering staying at the Alpine Inn, which is a bit of a walk from the main gate, but supposed to be very close to the Timon lot tram, which you can take to the main gate, when it's running.

So I want to know if this tram runs on weekdays in early August??

The person I spoke to at the motel says it runs every day, but I'm not sure I trust that information....

I may be wrong but, I think the tram system is the same one you would use if you were in the Mickey parking garage. I remember seeing signs pointing to the Timon parking area in the tram area.

They open the Timon lot when it's really crowded, so there's a good chance if you go in August, it will be open. However, whenever we've parked there, there was no tram service, and we had to walk.

We did this a few years ago, during the summer and the tram ran every day that we were there. Hope that helps.

I parked in the Timon parking lot last August midday, midweek. A couple of days later, I went to DL first thing in the morning and it wasn't opened yet (I entered the parking lot but was directed over to Mickey and Friends). My conclusion was that this lot opened only after the parks got very crowded. I would guess that it would be opened most everyday in early August, but not necessarily until later in the day.

We were last Sept.(on a weekend). Some friends of ours were staying at the Alpine Inn,and had 'no' problems using the tram.

have you tried calling the Disneyland Resort? I think they would be the most reliable to get an answer.
