How long does it take to great from park to lodge?

Depends on the luck of the bus. We always had fantastic luck for our AK days, literally maximum 5 minutes. Probably less in fact.

BUT, its possible if you JUST miss the bus, it could take .. 10 - 20 mins.

I too was worried about transportation time before staying there. Everyone makes it out to be so far away you'd think it was in the heart of Africa. I was pleasantly surprised by how much faster and efficient the bus service was to and from parks. The ride to MK was around 15-20 min. The ride to Epcot and DHS was around 10 min, and to get to AK was only about 5 min. The extra time you have to factor in is waiting for the bus, which we've had good bus service there.

I agree. When you catch a bus just right, it's 5 minutes to AK, about 10 to DHS and EP and 15-20 to MK. Not as great as monorail, walk or boat, but not dreadful.

The longest journey is to DTD and TL. Getting to DTD took us an average of 50 minutes. It was made worse once or twice when we were travelling during peak times because of the mess of parking/roads etc around DTD atm. So if you have any ADRs there I would leave lots of time between leaving and your ADR time!

You are right about everyone making out like it is the heart of Africa, that was my one concern when we booked. Happy to know first hand that it's not so bad.
