Timeshare questions

Yeah!

It's settled! We'll be in the "larger" 1BR at Vacation Village at Parkway less than two weeks from now!

Being the worrier-type person that I am, although I think I know the answers to these questions, would someone please confirm....

- will there be a can opener?
- will there be shampoo/soap
- do we need to replace any expendable supplies?

Also, while I can pick up things like zip lock bags, etc. when we go to Publix, are there obvious things, like a small amount of laundry soap, that you can think of off hand that we'd be better off bringing from home (we're flying)?

We bring powdered laundry soap or those laundry soap tablets in ziplocks along with dryer sheets. Pretty much everything else (grocery-wise) we buy down there. We also prefer to bring our own shampoo/conditioner.

I always bring a little laundry detergent and stain treatment with me so I don't have to buy a large quantity in Florida. All the condos I have stayed in provide one little box of laundry detergent, but never stain treatment.

Other tips:
I always take a nightlight (the kind without breakable bulbs) to place in the bathroom so you can find your way around in strange surroundings at night.

I bring a small plastic food container for leftovers too fragile for ziploc bags (I fill it with stuff before placing it in my luggage).

Not all the different condos I have stayed in have a hair dryer. Take one with you if you have to have one.

After arrival, I usually buy bottled water since I am not used to the taste of Orlando's drinking water.
