Looks like, very soon, we will be looking to get out of our time-share, which DS kind of inherited from his parents.
Something specific, like
DVC for a Disney lover, might be okay...
But a timeshare is a different story.
Since we have this timeshare week, we looked into moving up to Wyndham Points. We read the fine print, and it was
NO WAY.
RCI has given us so few trading value points for our week, that we can't use it to anywhere decent, worth going.
Our nice two bedroom in a top mountain resort barely got us a little one bedroom, with no amenities, a couple of miles from the beach. Seriously.
Wyndham and RCI are just not the kind of company that I want to do business with.
Anyhow, by the time you pay your annual maintenance fee (which goes up every year), membership to RCI if you want to exchange for any other resort, exchange fees, etc... etc... We figure we could spend that money to go wherever, whenever, we want, without the incredible hassles.
The above poster is correct, if, for example, they wanted to buy into Wyndham (which basicly is only worthwhile when booking a Wyndham property - worthless for anything else) pay literally ten times less to buy from somebody OTHER than a Timeshare Sales Shark.
