times to make dinning question

We live in CA so typically can't go to DW more than every 5 or more years. We have a trip planned for April and I am trying to figure out how things are working NOW. Is it still 3 a.m. PT to make ADRS and if so is their any availability? I know with Disneyland you can go on right at 60 days and there is not much posted and no real rhyme or reason as to when things DO drop. Is it still really hard to get dinning or has it gotten any better?

It really depends. If you are staying onsite and you have a longer resort stay, you will have better luck getting hard-to-get reservations toward the end of your stay. If you are a smaller group, you will, most likely have better luck snagging reservations. If you are going at a slower time of the year, you will have better luck. Dining reservations still open at 6 am EST, 60 days prior to resort check-in or, if staying off-site, 60 days prior to the dining reservation you are hoping to make. AFAIK, Disneyland does not have the 60+10 ADR perk of staying at a Disney hotel, so, I would imagine, the playing field is a little more level out there with everyone trying to get reservations at, exactly, the 60 day mark (please correct me if I'm wrong). At WDW, people staying onsite with longer hotel stays will always have the ADR advantage.
