Timeframe of Christmas Decorations

Hi Everyone,

We are finally in the DVC system with our recently closed contract at BCVs. and will be making reservations today or tomorrow. Does anyone happen to know when the Xmas decorations are put up in November? Is it before Thanksgiving?

In 2002, I went the weekend before Thanksgiving and it seems most all of the decorations were up(comparing it to December 2003). However, none of the Christmas-type "activities" start until on or after Thanksgiving-Osborne Lights, Candlelight Processional, Holiday Storytellers, Tree lighting ceremonies, etc. And I can't remember Christmas music playing in November as it did constantly in December(can't hear Manheim Steamroller now without thinking of WDW).

We arrived at BWV on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend 2003 and all the decorations were up. Holiday music was playing and holiday merchandise was all out. It was a great time to visit -- crowds were low, but all the holiday stuff was happening. We went to the Candlelight Processional and MVMCP.

Pack some warm clothes, though. We had more than one day in the 30 - 40 degree range. Of course, we all got sick because I was expecting temps in thef 50's not the 30's ! My DD4 even woke up with a 102 fever on our last day. But that's another story...

The Christmas decorations go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, I was told that is a VERY popular time for DVC members to make reservations. Good luck, I hope you get the time you want.

I have the 2003 schedule in a Microsoft Word document. Decorations started going up on November 3 and finished on November 25. I can't remember what website I copied this from. I wish I had kept the link. The schedule is quite lengthy, so if no one comes up with the link, I can past my word document here.

Thank you so much for your responses. I was able to book a 2-bed. villa at BCV arriving 11/14-leaving 11/19 - lockoff for 11/14 and dedicated villa for remaining days. Waitlisted for the dedicated on 11/14. Hope it is really not that cold..I think temps are normally in the high 70's...Yikes! I will try searching for additional info.

We have gone mant times starting on Thanksgiving day and most of the decorations are up by then. Everything else starts right after Thanksgiving though.

It can be very cold or it can be very warm. We have had 80's and sunny some years and we have had to buy gloves other years. You just don't know, but we have had pretty good luck.
