And I have to thank Verizon for it! For years I have been trying to get my $176 monthly bill decreased with no success - I would have cut certain services but dh refused to let me - for internet and cable. Well, Verizon coming into my area has helped me tremendously! I got my bill almost cut in half today to $89/month and they also have given me faster internet service!

While I am happy about it, I do find it extremely frustrating that they can pretty much be a monopoly - how crazy that it really took no effort from me to get that much of a decrease when they have been taking double the money for years? but now that verizon is here, all of a sudden services don't cost that much? CRAZY!

What service do you actually have for that price?

TV
DVRs, how many?
Cable boxes, how many?
Telephone?

we pay $51 a month for your Dish sat. package. Its not the lowest package, but doesn't have all the channels. (Has just about all the ones I care about though). The $51 covers the $6 in taxes. With it, we have two signals, HD, and two dvrs. Ive considered dropping cable for a short while now, but ill pay $50 for what I get. However, I could never see paying almost $200 a month. I would drop cable completely before that happened.

And internet?

Right now we pay $43 for internet. That is an upgraded faster speed as we have so much hooked up to it.

We just received a post card saying we could add cable TV with an HD DVR and an HD receiver with full dvr service for an additional $49/mo for two full years.

I *think* we would also get a $10 discount on our internet if we bundled them together.

That would be $83 for the above per month.

Not sure we will do it though.

no phone, two cable boxes, two dvr's.

I am not the OP, but this is my TWC deal

1 DVR
telephone (long distance and all the other stuff)
internet

$87 a month plus tax makes it $92 a month

Do you know your internet speed? Do you know how long that is guaranteed?

They told me that I could get that deal for one year only guaranteed, but that it would include lower band width than I currently get.

I also would need to add at least one more cable box, probably two.

good luck!

Actually I don't think I am going to do it.

It will cost us quite a bit more. I need the additional $15 bandwidth and extra receivers/DVRs would run about $30 additional to that.

So, our *deal* would be not that great of a deal.

yes it includes internet - supposedly a faster one than what I had. I also have HD for both tv's. and that amount includes all taxes.

We have had TWC for years and have never paid over $89 (pre-taxes and fees) for a package. We have had both the double play (which we have now, better internet and cable, but no phone) and triple play (internet, cable and phone.) Even after Disney OD, HBO and Showtime add-ons, 4-6 movie rentals a month @ $3.99 each and the taxes and fees, our bill has never been over $135.

My grandma tried TWC and ended up with a $200+ bill each month, with just the regular internet, cable and phone. She finally gave up and now has AT&T internet and phone with DISH satellite. It is really, REALLY bad service compared to our TWC and she still pays more than us. I know she called to try and get the triple play package with TWC when she had them, but she must have been doing something wrong because she ended up cancelling everything :confused3

Did you ever try calling and specifically asking for the triple play package? I assume it is available in all areas, but I could be wrong.
