I think I may have finally lost it!
I am planning a major undertaking for this summer.
My little brother is getting married mid-June in Tennessee. I plan to drive down from Maine with my two kids in tow...and the dog...........eeek! Then drive on to Texas to visit the grandparents...................oh geez, for four weeks no less.
THEN drive from Texas to WDW.
What am I getting myself into?

Once done with Vero Beach, we will drive on home to Maine.

The "plan" right now is to spend two weeks at WDW followed by five days at Vero.
We have never been to Vero, but I read so many nice reports on it here. Any tips you can share would be appreciated.

I do have a few questions...........
First, what medications should I be packing? You know, to help my sanity?
Second, any decent places to stop along the route from Tx to WDW?
Third, good kennels in the area? I have heard good things about the WDW kennels, but we won't be able to walk Copper or check on him while at Vero.

I may look like this by day two :scared: .

Let me get this straight you are going away for 7 weeks? :cool1:

Chim Chiminy, you are doing this all wrong! You should be doing this NOW during the Maine Winter, not in June when the weather is scorching in Texas and Beautiful in Maine!

Seriously, you should have a great time.

Wow!!! You are going to need a vacation from your vacation!

Sorry I do not have answers to your specific questions. Anyone?

Vacation from vacation! That's how I always feel after going home to Texas!!
Honest though, I don't consider that first part of the trip to be vacation. Being back in the hometown is work........

Vacation will start once I drive under that big purple sign.....Welcome to Walt Disney World......

dwelty, I wish I could be going now. Texas in the summertime is not my thing, I have to hide indoors all day, only emerging at night. Too hot for me. How I survived growing up there, I will never know.

Kenneling the dog is the big question there. I will probably ask on another board.
I am considering asking our catsitter if she is up to the task, but then again she is 12. That is a big responsibility for a 12 year old..........
