Time to get to ADR's

Generally speaking, I'm planning on giving ourselves about an hour to get to our ADR's each day.

We are going August 13-20. The ADR's range from about 2pm in the afternoon until about 8:10pm in the evening. On some days, we'll be in the park where we're eating, but I unfortunately wasn't able to plan that each day. (This trip was only planned about 60-90 ahead and it's during free dining - ADR's weren't that easy to come by!!) We're eating at LeCellier, Coral Seas, Boma, San Angel, Concourse, & Mitsukoshi - alot of time we will be travelling to EPCOT either from another park or the resort.

We have our car with us. Again, this is just in general. Do you think an hour can get us to most places in time for ADR's? Also, do you have to be there 15 minutes BEFORE your ADR? I thought I read that somewhere.

This is a little difficult to answer. It would help a bit to know which resort y'all will be staying at, and if you would rather use Disney transportation or your personal auto.

For example, if you are staying at a monorail resort, an hour should be enough time to get from your resort to Epcot for a reservation time.

If, however, you are staying at a non monorail resort, and visiting in August during the crowded season, I think you might want to plan for over an hour by the time you park or catch a bus or boat, and walk to the eatery.

Getting from park to park is even more difficult to do in just one hour, and I would allow at least one and one-half hour for such a trip.

It is regretable that you could not plan far enough ahead of time to make meal reservations to mesh with park touring plans.

Also, I would attempt to arrive at least 10 minutes before reservation time, and be sure to have your conformation number on hand.

Enjoy.

We usually try to get to our ADRs early because you're going to wait anyway. I'd say about 1 hour before the ADR we start to head over depending on where it is because you have to deal with you transportation. I usually plan our ADRs based on what park we're at that day, so there isn't too much time we need. But when we have to go to a resort we definately plan ahead and get there early..it's better to be early then to be late and get cancelled.

We're staying at the CBR and we have our own car. We'll probably just drive to most places because I think it will save time. (Except MK - we'll use the bus). Do you think with a car an hour is enough time? MOST days we'll definitely be going to dinner from the resort.

As far as planning in advance: my family thinks I'm crazy enough just planning what park we'll go to and what restaurant we'll eat in each day BEFORE we actually get there!!! The reason I can't plan farther in advance (like I did when my kids were small) is that we have crazy, busy baseball summers each year, and we just don't know when we can actually take a family vacation or if we even can fit one in. Besides, I'm so happy with the price we're paying for this deal I really don't think I can complain about anything.

In that case, I'd say one hour would be enough. When you park at Epcot, drive up as near to the enterance as you can. This is because later on in the day there are usually some parking places up there where folks have left before closing time. Probably be quicker than parking far away and waiting for a tram.

And you are quite right. Take the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Driving your car to that park is a mistake at any time of the day.

I hope y'all have a great visit.
