Well, I've been reading everyone's reviews and thoughts, and I have read through the resort descriptions. My thoughts? They all sound wonderful, each has it's pros and cons, and for as many people that have enjoyed the resort, just as many haven't as much! LOL What's a gal to do?
Seriously, I have learned so much by reading what you guys have to say. I mean stuff that I never would have even thought to ask about (like the bus transport systems and timing).

We are a family of three probably heading down in August. DH wants to stay at a resort that has decent outdoor activities and pool side drinks. I really want the peaceful views and walking trails. DD doesn't care as long as the pool is huge.

Any suggestions? Which resort and which buildings within the resort? I'm leaning toward the POFQ because it's smaller and it has the boat to DD. I think DH would rather have CSP because it's on the water with those little boat things.
Decisions, decisions.....
Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by your DH would prefer CSP--which resort is this?
Our favorite and only mod we will stay at is the Coronado. Yes, it is a very large resort, but it has a lot of what you want--a big pool for your daughter (with a great slide), a playground and the quiet pools; for your DH there is the volleyball court, the boat and bike rentals, the pool side bar/food area, hot tub, fitness center; and for you there is the walking trails and also peaceful views (we love looking out over the lake at night and seeing the water lay still and the lights shining down on it. Please feel free to sen dme a private message if you have any specific questions.

We are biased towards the CBR. My kids, wife and I love that place. We took the kids there when they were 8 and 6 for the first time...they loved the little play area in the middle of the lake, and there is plenty to do. The resort is the largest so you do not feel crowded in. The bus service was excellent. Each resort on CBR has there own pool, and they are refurbishing the main pool at CBR.

I have also heard good thing about Coronado Springs from other friends. You really can't go wrong.

If you like Caribbean themed resort, CBR is it; a southwestern flavor, then CSR; and for a New Orleans theme, Port Orleans is excellent.

We have always had great luck while staying at CBR. In 2005, we booked a Grand gathering for 9 people...3 rooms. My mother is disabled, and the cast and crew at CBR were excellent. They gave us what we requested, and the vacation was excellent. I have nothing bad to say about CBR.

oops! type-o - s/b CSR (Coronado).
Thanks for your input - just what I'm looking for.

I think both Coranado Springs and Port Orleans Riverside would work for your family. They both are rather large, and have lovely walking paths. Plus they both have great pool areas. I know POR rents boats and surrey bikes, and has a fishing hole too.

POFQ has a very small pool area. It would be better suited to very small children, like ages 6 and younger. The slide is very small, even though it is in the shape of a fun looking dragon. So if a huge pool is part of your must have list, I would rule out POFQ.

CSR is my favorite! Great pool, transportation, food and much more. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

I just read that the Dig at CSR is going under rehab but no dates were given. Does anyone know anything more on this?

All of the mods are situated on some type of water, be it a "lake" or a "river". Check out pictures of them and choose the one that appeals to you the most! We've stayed at POR and POFQ and they are both great! Hope to stay at the other 2 some day but that probably won't happen as we are a family of 5. Good luck with your decision!

The Dig Site Pool at CSR remains open while the Jaguar Slide undergoes refurbishment. Only the slide will be closed from March 31st until April 30th.

Our Fav is POFQ. We've stayed at CSR and it was too spread out for us, but the pool was awesome! Riverside is probably your best option. It's big, with a big pool and probably meets your needs best.

We prefer POFQ because it's smaller, still has a decent sized pool and everything is within a 5 min or less walk. You can't say the same for CSR or CBR.

Another vote for CSR! Awesome pool, transportation and the food is terrific!
