Time shares, free dining??

If you have a time share, can you still qualify for the free dining? A friend of mine wants to come in August. Her father and mother have a time share. Would we be able to get the free dining?

Just wondering or a timeshare off of WDW property. I know that off property would not qualify for free dining or even a paid dining plan. (You have to stay at their resorts for the dining plan.)

The only way to qualify for free dining is to book a full price room/tickets package at a Disney-owned resort through Disney (or have a travel agent book one through Disney). Even members of the Disney timeshares do not qualify for free dining, although they may purchase the dining plan.

DDP is only for Disney resort guests. Even guests of the Swan or Dolphin cannot even pay for the dining plan...not available to them. As far as the on-property timeshare (DVC), free dining does not apply. Neither does the 4-night package with 3 extra nights free deal going on right now. DVC works strictly on vacation points, and is already a great deal on accommodations.

One other thing about this...we are DVC members. Although I hear many people complaining that those special deals are not available to members, DVC is saving us a ton of money over the years since the accommodations we want are roughly $4,000 for a 10-night trip, and hotel prices will only go up over the years. Plus our kids are little and we have many years ahead of us until they won't want to vacation with us anymore.

Yeah what do you mean by timeshare? Like a Disney DVC timeshare?
