Has anyone ever attempted to do a time share trade for one of the sites at Disney (Saratoga Springs, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Old Key West and Wilderness Lodge Villas)?

Is it impossible?
(Planning on late June of '08)

yes it is - don't try for a 2-bedroom - very, very hard to get.

but a studio or 1-bedroom should be okay with a good trader.

you must trade thru II to get DVC.

generally if you can get a Marriott you can get DVC. if there is availability.

what are you trading?

Can anything like this be done on the rent/trade board? Has there been in the past?
Thanks
Chris

I do not know if any of the trades offered on the R/T Forum were successfully completed, but you can certainly post your offer there and see if anyone is interested.

Be sure to read all the Sticky Threads at the top of the Forum before you post - especially the FAQ (some info there re trades). If your post doesn't follow the guidelines, it won't make it through the moderation queue.

Good luck!

Oh, no none for me thanks. I will have to get sick of Disney first to trade out. Curiosity got the better of me in asking the question. Do a lot of people tade out?

I was thinking of the type of trade that the timeshare company itself works out for the owner. It's generally pretty routine, I just wasn't sure how routine it is to trade into Disney.

See spicycat's response above regarding exchanges through Interval International (II).

FWIW, I've made 5 exchanges into BWV units for January travel ... and am still too delighted to call the process "routine." ;)

For several months of the year and for a one bedroom or smaller, I think it is not difficult to trade in provided one has sufficient resort quality and trade power. I've probably traded in ten times or more over the years and seen thousands of trades online. Given the complexities of Intervals system and the uncertainties involved, using the word is routine is probably a bit much. For January and September it would come pretty close for one bedroom or smaller unit.
